sometimes you don't find your soulmate until your 50s, because overcoming childhood issues takes a while and making good relationship choices comes from experience
and sometimes you only begin a new career of (say) starting an educational nonprofit and devoting serious time into doing the freelance writer thing until your 50s, because the first part requires a lot of years' experience to succeed on your own, and creativity only gets better with practice
the 30s are when we begin to establish ourselves and find out what we really want to do when we grow up; the 40s are when we develop our talents and skills and understanding of ourselves and the world; and the 50s are when we can stop doing jobs we hate, break patterns of bad relationships, and finally begin doing the things we've dreamed of - lots of folks only get married to the right person in our 50s and begin considering starting a family then, when we can afford to raise a child!

unless you're privileged with wealth from an early age and can afford to do your art and pursue your passions without having to earn a living, very few living under capitalism can launch the life they want until after a couple decades of earning a good living - and for most these days, that doesn't start until your 30s
(PS: people are only "over the hill" after they've stopped increasing their skills and knowledge and working toward becoming better people, and for lots of folks I know that never ends - no one would call Grandma Moses "over the hill" in her 80s)
so enjoy your 20s for what they are - a time of learning about yourself and the world, gaining mastery points, and seeking new experiences - and be encouraged that things will continually get better as you strive toward the best you and the life you want!
