coping mechanisms and an attempt at intimacy

very briefly wanted to talk about i view lacepure in this scenario which is (borrowing the language of @dances-with-pans) that i want them to figure out their shit together, but i think it would be trying. i think eventually lace might take control of them in the bedroom but so much of her relationship with her mother is like, fawning and being obedient while wanting to be seen and even if she does cut off her mother's arms it's sosososo easy to fall back into old habits. and one break away moment doesn't lead to full actualization. sure she might no longer have her mother to please but it's a whole life of learned behavior and not being able to be vulnerable so i don't think it would be out of character for her to "offer" herself to pure but think that because it's on her terms then it's okay - if she even thinks its own her terms. it could just be what she expects of all relationships.

and pure who has been a silent tool and expected to take everything for so long being pushed into a different role would be overwhelming and scary and they don't WANT to put lace in that position. they know what it's like and they care about her. but they also don't know how to be a person and express this and i think disassociating would be common (why they switched to it/its at the end). idk these thoughts might change but that's what I'm thinking rn...

they BOTH want to fuck btw. but they both have trauma. it's getting in the way. or making it unenjoyable. idk. let me know if u have other thoughts ty bye
