Plus, all can surgery be dangerous. Though, if you have a good surgeon you can come out of it being fine AND being happier than you were pre-OP. Which is a common outcome.

Same with injecting artificial hormones designated for the other sex; we just aren't sure what's going to happen long-term, especially for those who were on hormone blockers and never experienced a natural, non-medically-induced puberty.

I'm just concerned with the state of the "science" which is convincing people that extreme, life-altering surgery is a valid option for something that they'll likely get over just by getting older. It's less science and more a capitalist system's excuse to milk people for funds.

I understand your ‘concern’, I for one am not big on hormone blockers, but gender dysphoria is a real thing that is (usually) only cured by transitioning.

But honestly, isn’t that the same for almost all surgery? When it’s fresh and new, people are essentially getting experimented on by surgeons because they aren’t entirely sure what will happen. But, transitioning is high in demand, and as I said before it can save lives.

For most dysphoric trans people, it’s either get surgery or kill yourself. So, I think the former is a much better option, even if it can be risky.

I’m not dysphoric so I can’t exactly speak for dysphoric trans people, but take it from what a friend of mine has said: imagine having a chest you can’t stand, and it’s existence makes you depressed and suicidal. You’ve tried therapy, but that doesn’t work. Not because you have body dysmorphia or anything, but because of dysphoria. But! You can have surgery to fix that chest of yours, though it’s risky. Wouldn’t you want that? Or would you rather be stuck unable to take showers for weeks, and every time you can you want to fucking vomit. The pros to out weigh the possible cons, yeah? So, my question is: why should a transgender person be considered their gender?
