With under two weeks left in our Season 3 Kickstarter, we have just over $1600 to raise to make it to a greenlight for season 3! Pre-production continues apace--in fact, tonight we are reading the final batch of scripts with a small group of our main cast--with the hopes that we can pull the trigger on setting recording dates the second we make our goal (we have the studio on standby for reservation and cast emails drafted and ready to go as I type this), and get the season in your ears as soon as possible - but we'll need your help to get there. The best thing you can do for us, if you've already contributed or aren't in a place to contribute, is help us spread the word about the show. We are very much in a place in this campaign where every small donation pushes us that much closer to the finish line, so if you've been waiting for the right moment to recommend us to a friend or family member, this is a great time!
the prologue of Desperate Hollow is out now!!
Hello detectives! 🔎
Do you love:
Mystery fiction, especially paired with a comedic tone, like Knives Out, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, or Only Murders in the Building?
Sherlock & Co, and want another, different take on the Holmes canon to add to your rotation of shows?
Irreverent historical comedies with surprising heart and messages about the people who often get left in the margins of history like Operation Mincemeat and Our Flag Means Death?
Re: Dracula, and other audio dramas that present unique takes on classic literature?
British audio comedy like Wooden Overcoats, Victoriocity, Cabin Pressure, and Bleak Expectations?
The original ACD Sherlock Holmes stories but wish there was explicit, textual representation of gay, lesbian, and ace identities that are celebrated and centered within the actual text?
Adorable senior cat mascots?
May we present ourselves, Fawx & Stallion, a mystery-comedy podcast about the best detective team on Baker Street! (Not that one.) Our full first and second seasons are available now, and we are currently crowdfunding for Season 3! If a queer, Victorian mystery-comedy set in the world of Sherlock Holmes sounds like it might be up your alley, please consider giving us a listen, and if you're able, supporting our crowdfund so that our indie team can bring another mystery to life!
The award-winning comedy-mystery audio drama about the (second) best detectives in London is raising funds for its third season!

Updated this for our SEASON 3 CROWDFUND! We're currently sitting at 58% funded with 20 days to go!
Queer SWANA Books for Pride Month
Google Doc: [Queer Creatives to Support this Pride Month and Beyond]
If you haven’t seen my original post about this, I’ve been taking contributions and compiling a list of queer creatives and artists you can support financially, as an alternative to buying corporate Pride merch. I originally intended for this to be a one-off post, but thanks to all the wonderful contributions, the list grew far beyond my expectations. So I decided to make it available indefinitely, in a format that can be continually updated and expanded.
It’s a little down to the wire for Pride Month, but that’s okay, because the emphasis really is on ‘and beyond’ for this one. Let’s keep supporting queer creatives year-round!
So what do we need from you?
Send in more suggestions! - There’s a formalised process for doing this, using the contact form on my website, but while this post is circulating, please feel free to add your suggestions in the reblogs, tags and replies. I’ll be keeping track of it and adding any contributions I see.
Add reviews! - Same as above, if there’s a creator you love on the list, vouch for them! Share a short note about why you love their work – especially if they haven’t already been vouched for, but we can include multiple if they have.
Share! - Spread the word, and help get this out as widely as possible. Share the post, send the document to your friends, tag creators you love or people who you think might benefit from it.
Support! - If you have the funds and you find an artist on the list that you’d love to support, do so! That’s what it's all about, after all.
And as a final note, while I've been working on this list over the past month, a few friends did point out that I am, in fact, also a queer creator who is in pretty dire financial straits at the moment, and should probably be including myself here. there is absolutely no pressure to do so, but if you have the funds to spare and would like to support my work, I have now set up a Buy Me a Coffee page.
CinEnigmas: On the Public Feed!
Thank you again, detectives, for helping us reach 50% funded in our first week! In honor of our season 3 Kickstarter, earlier this week we uploaded a very special episode of our Patreon-only unscripted series, CinEnigmas - on the main feed for free!
Once a month, Ian, Lauren, and some occasional special guests and friends of the show, are examining what makes a good MYSTERY MOVIE (or tv show)! From the highest highs to the lowest lows, we are examining mystery storytelling, mystery solving, and the elements of making a detective for cinema. In this episode, we're talking Sherlock Holmes (2009), the first of the Guy Ritchie Holmes series, in a conversation about our own expectations going into the film in 2009, show-vs-tell in mysteries, hitting the correct balance of action and mystery in a very action-heavy action/mystery, and just why Jude Law's Watson works so very much for us as a Watson.
If you like this episode (or even love it), and want access to all past and future episodes, consider donating to the Kickstarter at the $50 tier, where you'll get one year of Patreon membership (a $60 value) which also gets you updates, episode commentaries with the team, ad-free access to our whole catalogue, and early access for our future episodes. Or check out our other offerings, or donate as little as $1 to help us make more Fawx & Stallion!
COMING JULY 6TH - A NEW QUEER WESTERN ROMANCE!!
This is so deeply surreal to share, but Desperate Hollow, the queer romance western that I've been working on for the last eight years, is finally going to be something you can actually read. I'm trying a totally new-to-me thing - releasing it chapter by chapter on the @atypicalartists Patreon. Sign up for free now to read the first five chapters (which will be available for everyone) as they come out!
But more importantly, LOOK AT THIS ART BY NOAH DAO!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!! THEY'RE SO GORGEOUS!!!
If you don't see this art and immediately want to know who these men are, you are a stronger person than I but also I should tell you a bit about the story.
Seven years after a near-fatal argument, two former friends and outlaws find themselves face to face once again, forced to work together to hide from the law and confront their complicated feelings in the process.
It's friends-to-enemies-to-lovers. It's second chance except the first chance ended in bloodshed. It's guard dog character vs. guy who didn't ask to hold his leash character. It's one bed. It's presumed dead. It's would-kill-for-you/would-die-for-you except that actually really sort of happens.
It's probably my favorite thing that I've ever written. And I can't WAIT to share it with you on my own terms.
July 6th! Mark your calendars!
A couple years ago the “bury your gays” trope pissed me off so bad I wrote a “resurrect your gays” revenge novel… and it comes out in TWO MONTHS.
Pride month is the perfect time to preorder The Halls of the Dead — just look at the reviews!! Out August 18 with Harper Voyager & available wherever books are sold. More info here on the HarperCollins website
Fantastic news! We are now sitting at $3,115 pledged, which, if you're keeping track, is both 31% of our goal, and also over the $3000 needed to unlock our FIFTH crowdfund-exclusive sticker design! More opportunities to come for our next campaign milestones, but for now, thank you so much to everyone who has contributed! Let's keep this momentum going!
By popular demand, a new pinned post about us and the show for new followers/audio drama listeners/people who might be here because of our Sherlock Holmes postings! Find more info on the show and how to listen on our website, 224bbaker.com
🚨 ANY SHOW-RELATED SPOILERS ON THIS BLOG ARE TAGGED #224B SPOILERS 🚨

And we are currently CROWDFUNDING FOR SEASON THREE!
Reminder that July isn't "lgbtq wrath month," it's disability pride month. Don't erase it.
Here are your 2026 prompts! Image IDs beneath the images. Enjoy, and I can't wait to see what you create.
I will be posting disability writing advice with the tag #disability writing advice, over the coming days until the event.
[Image ID: A blue poster with blue and yellow flowers advertising PJO Disability Week. In the center, there is the title, which reads "PJO Disability Week". Beneath that is a caption that says "Disable your Blorbos!", and the dates July 12-18. Around the poster, there are several phrases, which say "All Riordanverse works are welcome, including OCs!", "Open to all media types (except AI)", "Posting open until July 25th!", "Prompts out now!!", "On Tumblr @ pjo-disability-week" and "Run by @ imminentchaos on Tumblr". /.End ID]
[Image ID: The prompt list for PJO Disability Week 2026. The prompt list is on a yellow background, with yellow flowers. The prompt list reads "Day One, July 12th, Retaliation/Infirmary. Day Two, July 13th, Mobility Aid/Flashback. Day Three, July 14th, Freedom/Flare Up. Day Five, July 15th, Family/Beauty. Day 6, July 16th, Fantasy AU/Capture the Flag. Day 7, July 18th, Date Night/Free Space. /.End ID]
More works need to take a lesson from The Silt Verses and include a whole episode of shmoopy cozy romance and then have those characters die badly and then look the audience square in the face and ask “Why does this feel so much more tragic to you than other characters’ previous deaths? Why do you assume having a romantic partner makes someone more deserving of a happy ending?”
And also the aromantic protagonist is having an enemies-to-friends arc with an ex cop turned anti sacrifice cultist by arguing about misremembered song lyrics in the background
The award-winning comedy-mystery audio drama about the (second) best detectives in London is raising funds for its third season!
Our season 3 Kickstarter is live! Fawx & Stallion is a comedy-mystery podcast about the best detective team in London! Not that one. The other one. Across the street, and slightly to the left, at 224B Baker Street. We've successfully solved two mysteries, and we'll need your help to get a crack at a third! Scripts are written, pre-production has begun, and all we need is the funding to make this show's engine start in earnest!
Season one of the show was primarily self-financed, and season two's 10 episodes were crowdfunded and produced for $8000. For season 3, we are telling a story unlike any you've heard, with 12 full-cast episodes. Thank you to our Patreon members who have helped finance our pre-production and our wonderful team of five guest writers! For this season, we are asking for $10,000 to bring this sprawling, absurd, ambitious story to life.
We invite you to check out our crowdfunding page, which is live now, for more info on the season, our budget breakdown, and our fantastic set of rewards (early access! annotated Holmes stories! stickers! for the first time, the opportunity to name a character or provide walla for the show!)
In the interest of highlighting our rewards, take a look at our first set of 4 stickers, because we have an offer for you: help us get $3000 in pledges in the first 72 hours, and we'll add a FIFTH pride-themed sticker to all $30 and up tiers!
More info about the season under the cut!
re my "read books that make you feel stupid" post: reading books you don't fully understand is probably the safest way to push yourself outside your comfort zone. you don't have to embarrass yourself in front of anyone. you can do it from your cozy bed. you can easily get help from book clubs or literary analysis online. you can go as slowly as you want. there's literally no risk.
