I don't think I said last week, but I've been feeling a DMing burnout for a few weeks now. A lot of it has to do with a fresh wave of depression I've been struggling to deal with. Plus I've been sick a lot, and I was struggling once again to figure out the Avatar Legends ttrpg rule-set.
Last week I talked to the teens about it and found one who was interested in DMing for a few sessions. Another teen, meanwhile, stepped up to run a one-shot last week. I played as my girl Yew, since I happened to have her character sheet available. Yew got killed by a Fireball spell, but another character was able to resurrect her.
I thought about premaking a character for this afternoon's session with the new DM, but I decided against it. In fact, I think I'm gonna roll a D12 to decide what class to play, then go from there as far as race and backstory.
Meanwhile, I have some ideas for a King Arthur campaign that I think I want to DM for our next big campaign. In particular, I really want to include some Arthurian-adjacent characters like Britomart from The Faerie Queen and/or Silence of Cornwall from Le Roman de Silence. I've low-key wanted to run a Knights of the Round Table campaign for a while now, and this seems like a cool opportunity.
