there is a sphere of thought in which it's actually very sad that these stories have gone unshared by people who are feeling social pressure that will shape them in the right way, i.e. to speak with caution when a marginalized person is involved, and are then taken in by an easy release of that pressure, oh you're so right, you should consider yourself and no other, the world is against you. it's sad that the machine built by transmascvoicesproject is working as I'm sure the person behind it built it to work. I feel sad for the naive minds being corrupted into, essentially, weapons against their peers

not as sad as I feel for the peers, TMA people, who will be beaten down and brutalized verbally and physically in years to come, maybe by people whose hatred started here

uneducated TME people let me speak with empathy for a moment. please please if you know you haven't unlearned as much as you should, or if you know friends that haven't, keep an eye on yourself and keep an eye on them. people are angry about this. anger will be directed at you. I need you to know that you are only the problem if you contribute to the problem and I need you to remember NOT TO CONTRIBUTE. if you're not sure then silence your typing fingers and listen and observe. check out both sides of the story and their critics and decide for yourself which one seems more credible. it's an easy answer

detrans voices project WHEN

I (being a sea creature) am not the best person to contact about this. we are enlightened down here so there isn't really any transition and everyone just is the gender that they are. maybe you got the wrong number somehow 🐠 that said...

I know some perfectly nice detrans people who have shared their stories with me, and they do have unique problems and perspectives that I think would benefit from community

the problem is, TVP (the only legitimate 'voices project') (besides me of course) was created to help transfeminine people share their stories of abuse or assault in a world that doesn't consider them capable of being victims. and I don't know how much of that detrans people specifically are subject to. I would assume not much. I am not detrans and don't know much about them, so maybe I'm wrong

the other problem is that detrans people, when they are found speaking on gender, often use their experience to inform a viewpoint that transgender is bad in some way. as a TME person with empathy for transfeminine people, I have sympathy for detrans people who are chill and just want community. but i don't think a 'voices project' style arrangement would be the best way to do that

maybe consider a tumblr group. if you make one, maybe give it some strict up-front guidelines to keep transphobic people from speaking over those who just want to be around people with shared experiences

so there you go. I am not at all the right person to ask, and I don't think you're asking in good faith either, but someone I am close to is detrans so I thought I'd give it my best shot :)
