Some firmly believe in the "if you've had any type of sex ever you're not a virgin" model, some only include specific sex acts but not others, some present it as a physical thing you can always tell, some bots consider it a fully clean slate after a reformat / reframe, some just do not believe in the idea at all, ect ect as it goes on & on

Considering what I've seen in fics I do think a decent amount of bots hold up the first time after a reformat as at least akin to it, especially with larger scale reformats where the array would be significantly changed

Consider: bots who regard sticky, field play, plug&play, wireplay, and sparkplay/sparkmerging in different categories. I feel like lots of mechs wouldn’t regard field play as counting toward losing your virginity but it would count as a form of sex. I can also see lots of debates over whether hardlining counts, and if that means that getting a diagnostic program run by a medic counts as losing your virginity even if it’s not sexy. Sparkplay and sparkmerging are undeniably sex and widely agreed to be losing your virginity regardless of what else is involved.

i’m sure there are ultra-puritanical bots who include EM, spark, sticky, wireplay, and hardlining as sex that loses your virginity, but doesn’t count medical hardlines or cable management as sex because there’s nothing inherently sexy about them (I’d also imagine that this view of sex has an unusually high density of bots with medic/medical kinks they never acknowledge). It’d be interesting to see bots who think that sparkplay and/or sparkmerging are the only forms of sex that count toward losing virginity because of the level of vulnerability involved, and how they view the concept of sex or what the concept of virginity itself means to them/where they grew up/etc.
