yanno i get so peeved at space documentaries for feeling the need to make everything so violently dramatic. it feels like the majority have like the soundtrack and narration of a cheesy action movie. black holes arent silently stalking you, supernovaes arent murderous, the forces of gravity couldnt give less of a shit about sentient life. personally im just looking to learn about the majesty of the universe and the shark week/true crime vibe to fucking space is so cringe. fear isnt the only driving factor in wanting to learn. some things are just wondrous and strange and we dont need to see them as an enemy

I dont listen to that many audiobooks, im almost entirely an audio horror podcast listener but the project hail mary movie did something to my bones and now im doing everything I can to focus on following the intricate science descriptions which leads me to just standing perfectly still for minutes at a time 🧍‍♂️
