Travel story here.
Day Eight: May 20, 2022 | Back Home
What we did before.
Today's the last day of the trip and it was so nice to finally travel again after the pandemic. I definitely had first time experiences throughout this trip and there were lots of lows and highs, tbh. It was a bittersweet one as well.
But I'm glad that I was able to visit again after so long. Memories were made throughout this trip and made me realize how much I loved and missed to travel and am also excited with the trips throughout the next years ahead. I have come upon this decision that I think I should also stop my travel blog here at tumblr. But that doesn't mean I'm ending it here, I'm just transferring to a different platform which is Tiktok (hoping you guys would support me there too, it'll mean alot). The reason I have chose this platform for my blogs is that I can look back and read the posts. This was and still will be my travel diary. But before we really say goodbye,
here is the vlog of the whole trip.
Day Seven: May 19, 2022 | Singapore (2/2)
Here is what we did before.
We decided to go back to the hotel and rest. I wanted to take a nap, so my sister left me as she went around the area. As for my brother, he did more shopping somewhere else so today was a free day.
Actually, today's just one of the days that I'm sad and that's because I found out my grades for a board exam I took and it really sank in that I did fail. I didn't feel like doing anything so I just has to be myself and had lots of thoughts too. I'm happy there was peace and that my sister let me be.
I woke up alittle later since my sister got back and we decided to find a restaurant nearby to have our dinner. I didn't want to eat at the hawker center because I was tired of it, lol. We ate there like everyday so we found one on the other direction of the hawker center. The restaurant's name was Aladdin's Castle and me and my sister started singing jokingly A Whole New World. We didn't stay long since we're leaving early tomorrow,
See here what we're doing.
Day Seven: May 19, 2022 | Orchard Mall, Singapore (1/2)
Here is what we did yesterday.
So today is our full day in Singapore. The day was pretty slow since we decided to go back to Orchard Mall. We visited this mall on Sunday but then my brother wanted to come here since there was a shop he wanted to look again.
And as he was shopping, I also did shop. I went around the area so I didn't just stay at this mall. I bought a small sling bag that I can use for traveling. I remember this was the time the the dunks panda came out and it was the hype shoe so I was looking for those here and my gosh it was so expensive since most of the stores were reselling them. I, then, went back to the same mall since my sister wanted to eat and headed towards their food court and here's
What we're doing after.
Day Six: May 18, 2025 | Universal Studios, Singapore (2/2)
Here is what we did earlier.
For today's adventure is Universal Studios! This is my first time in Universal but not for Sentosa.
The last time I was here, there was no Universal Studios and the famous attraction was there Go Kart. So being here in Universal got me excited!! It's been awhile I've been to a theme park, even more riding a thrill ride.
As soon as we got in, the first ride was the Battlestar Galactica: Human vs. Cyclone. During the ride, I almost passed out which I was shocked because that never happened before. We decided to walk around after to regain consciousness, lol. Then rode Revenge of the Mummy after. The ride was dark, could barely see anything but it was fun.
We walked some more to look around since Universal is huge. Our next stop was Far Away Land and rode a rollercoaster for kids. By 2pm, we started looking for a place to eat our late lunch and realized most of the restaurants or cafes were by New York and the Transformers so we went back. It was so hot walking around that I got a migraine from the heat--which is also a first for me. Ngl, it was unbearable.
We rode Revenge of the Mummy as our last ride then decided to head out since we were all drained from the heat. We decided to go back to the hotel and go shopping instead since it was cooler being inside the malls. We spent the whole evening at the mall, I wasn't able to take photos though since I was preoccupied. Today was a long but fun day, hopefully tomorrow will be a chill day.
See here what we're doing tomorrow.
Day Six: May 18, 2025 | Merlion Park, Singapore (1/2)
Here's what we did yesterday.
We're doing city sightseeing for today since and it's the perfect day!
We left the hotel around 8am and got here at Merlion Park around quarter to 10am. Most of the shops and restaurants were closed but that also meant there were not much tourists as well.
It's so peaceful without the crowd and it's actually nice. It's just the heat that's making it unbearable to walk with no shade at all.
Stop for a photo op! So love the view. We then headed towards the famous Merlion.
Pictures were taken, memories were made. But we're not stopping there.
The next bus stop was quite far from where we were. It was quite a walk but we were enjoying now that there's shade but we're not stopping here. We're heading towards our next destination which
you can see here.
Day Five: May 17, 2022 | Little India, Singapore (7/7)
What we did before.
As I mapped out which way to go back to our hotel, it was quite a long walk to the bus station.
During the walk, we did some city seeing intentionally. The Buddha Tooth Relic was on our way to the station and it even looks prettier at night with the lights on.
And also the Sri Mariamman Temple which there was also a service going on. As we passed by, alot of people were going in and started worshipping. We rode the bus and now it's time to hit the hay since tomorrow will be fun
Which you can see here.
Day Five: May 17, 2022 | Chinatown, Singapore (6/7)
What we did before.
As we got out of the Cloud Forest, the sun has already set and now it's time to find a place to have our dinner.
Since today was a clear day, as you can see, no clouds in sight at all, only meant that the sunset would be pretty.
And lo behold, this reflection says so during the bus ride to Chinatown! Which is our next stop and also where we're going to have our dinner. The Maxwell Food Centre is famous because there were a lot of artists who came here to eat. I do remember spotting an artist but I forgot who it was.
Having asian food is such a comfort but that didn't stop there since I found that one of the stalls were selling soya beancurd! Which is known as taho back home. It's one of my childhood favorite drink / snack so eating this here made feel so nostalgic. Now that we're all stuffed, it's time to do what's next
Which you can see here.
Day Five: May 17, 2022 | Cloud Forest, Singapore (5/7)
What we did before.
Of course, since we already checked out the Gardens by the Bay, we're not leaving the Cloud Forest behind.
As soon as you get it in, you are greeted with the coolest mist from their indoor waterfall. The mist feels so good with the heat.
We were here as the sun was setting so the lighting looks perfect, like how the sun beams through the forest in these photos.
They had more trees here and certain plants than flowers compared to the Gardens by the Bay.
We walked around the ramp up to the top and I really like how they planned this one. Both in structural and the architecture. As you go all the way up, you can see the sun beams. As soon as the sunset was gone, it was time to find a place to eat.
Check here where we're going next.
Day Five: May 17, 2022 | Flower Dome, Singapore (4/7)
Here is what we did before.
So far doing things here in Singapore are first times to me since the last time I was here was 2007. At that time, we just went to Sentosa Island. There was no Marina Bay Sands, Universal Studious and Gardens by the Bay.
When searching things to do in Singapore, as I was planning this trip, this was one of them and so here we are. As soon as we got in, it was cold since there was AC.
Thank God because the heat was too much to bear. I mean, I lived in Cebu where the only seasons are wet and dry. But walking around Singapore during summertime is not on my list of things to do.
We did touristy things, walked around and took photos and it reminded me that mom would really like it here as a plant tita (someone who loves plants).
Not only they had plants, but also wooden creatures like the deer in the photo above.
They had a lot of plants compares to flowers here. But there's more, we're not just stopping here.
Here is what we're doing next
Day Five: May 17, 2022 | Marina Bay Sands, Singapore (3/7)
Here is what we did before.
Next stop is Marina Bay Sands!!! Seeing the building is actually a dream as a Civil Engineer. If I remember correctly, we watched how this was build in one class during university.
But the interior is even prettier than it looks than the exterior. At first I thought that you could see only the way to the top but realizing it's per floor, lol.
We decided to continue our adventure so we passed by the bridge that connected you to the garden and I didn't realize that these attractions were very nearby each other.
Look at that the beaut! Still amazed seeing this in real life for the first time. The last I was here, this was still probably on construction, lol.
They also have the Singapore Flyer which reminds me of the London Eye (even though I haven't seen it in real life, lol).
The garden was huge and it was nice to walk around with the trees giving some shade despite the heat.
So our next adventure is the picture above as the hint. I wasn't able to buy the ticket on Klook since I had no data during this trip, so we got it over the counter instead.
Here is what we're doing after!
Day Five: May 17, 2022 | S.E.A. Aquarium, Sentosa World, Singapore (2/7)
Here's what we did earlier.
For today's adventure is visiting the aquarium that is where Sentosa Island is and also where the Universal Studios is as well.
So, I was able to book this via klook since it was one of the tourist places to go to.
We decided to come when it opens first thing in the morning since we have also have plans for later but we're not talking about that now, lol.
I am amazed that this place was huge. They have a lot of big tanks that caters to a lot of bigger species such as sharks, string rays and even a manta ray!
This jellyfish was mesmerizing to watch. They have really long tentacles and it seemed like they also glow in the dark, lol. Probably it's because of uv lights in this area of the aquarium.
There was a glass hallway where this sharks could swim just above you as you walk down and out of all the sharks I saw. I found this the cutest one. I really don't know why, lol. We spend about two hours and the left to
Here's what we're doing next!
Day Five: May 17, 2022 | Sentosa World, Singapore (1/7)
Here is what we did yesterday.
Good morning! We're now headed to Sentosa. We left the hotel around 8:30 in the morning and arrived at Sentosa around 9 am. We had to go through the mall for us to ride the tram to Sentosa.
It was quite early when we got here since most shops were closed. I remember stopping by a 7-11 convenience store for breakfast. The store was packed since they were serving breakfast and we didn't eat anything coming here.
Once we were done having our breakfast, we decided to go to our destination until we saw this! The ever famous Universal photo op! Of course we had to take a photo and since it's still closed, there's no crowd at all! Although it wasn't moving around like it should be, it's still perfect since we were the only ones taking photos.
It's time to go to our main destination since today isn't Universal day, I'm actually giving a hint with the photo above. But anyways,
see here what we're doing!
Day Four: May 16, 2022 | IMM Outlet Mall, Singapore
Here's what we did yesterday.
Good morning! For today's adventure is shopping day. Lol, since my siblings wanted to visit an outlet mall, we decided to come here at IMM Outlet Mall. This one stood out the most of the choices since they had more brands compared to others.
I don't have photos of the actual mall because I was busy shopping as well. We spent the whole day at the mall. Once we arrived, we decided a meet up place and time if ever we were done shopping then split up. I went with my sister while my brother with his wife. They had lots of stores but there wasn't anything I really wanted. I bought a couple of shirts from Converse and a sandal from Nike which was really cheap! Definitely a good buy and it was the last size for me. After I bought them, I was just looking around the mall. We had dinner then decided to go back to the hotel.
Here is what we are doing tomorrow!
Day Three: May 15, 2022 | Ibis Hotel Selegie, Singapore (4/4)
Here's what we did before!
We arrived at the hotel around eight in the evening and since it's still early, I decided to take a tour of our hotel since the past few days, we just slept and then went out for the whole day.
At the roof top, they have a small swimming pool and it made me want to dip in but I didn't bring any swimwear for me to enjoy. So I decided to just look at the view.
I actually took a timelapse of the traffic light below. Did take q few photos as well and made it my phone wallpaper. The breeze is warm but it's time to go back to the room since tomorrow is going to be a long day which you can see here
what we're doing tomorrow!
Day Three: May 15, 2022 | Clarke Quay, Singapore (3/4)
See here what we did before.
We rode the bus again to come here at Clarke Quay. Decided to walk alittle and saw the Marina Bay Sand building nearby.
We decided to to just stay around this area since upon checking the maps, it was quite a walk to get to the Marina Bay Sands building.
But don't worry, it's part of the itinerary just not for today. We just stayed inside this mall and did a little window shopping minus the shopping, lol.
We stayed until dinner then decided to go back to our hotel. The view at night is prettier since the lights were on and it was very bright.
Here's what we're doing next.
