Turns out the busy season at work turned from two to six months long. But I've had a vacation, and work is STILL weird, but hopeful that I can make this work again. I miss you all, and hoping to meet some new faces, too.

If we haven't met, I'm apparently old in internet years (30+) and have a love for these two seafaring dummies that I haven't shaken in over two decades. I play one muse, the other, or both at the same time. Mun is canonically poly donchaknow.

I love art in every form it's taken now and in the future, and all the weird ways people create. Ask me about horses at your peril.

POV: Your character is the reason Elsa was thrown from a horse

Today was the perfect day for riding. The air was warmer as spring approached, grass and blossoms peeked out from the snowmelt and the sun was bright and inviting. Havski has been excited as they cantered across the bridge and towards open space. The black draft horse snorted as she picked up her pace into a gallop. Her hooves thudded against the earth. Elsa took in a deep breath, closing her eyes and loosening the reins. She didn't see there was someone else on the road. Havski was going too fast to stop gracefully. The mare came to a clumsy halt that threw Elsa overhead and landed her hard on her side. Her body skidded across the ground. Havski let out an upset whinnie and began to pace around her rider, who was lying crumpled on the ground.

Today would be the perfect day for sailing, if one could sail across the villages outlying Arendelle, but the terrain could only be suitable for riding. Still, Eric had neither been thrown nor spiritually threatened by supercilious mares. He couldn't complain. He enjoyed the company, even, to Eric's surprise, the gelding who let him get used to the more grounded gait as he paced alongside Havski...but mostly behind her.

By the time they paced to a steady canter, Eric had his seat naturally enough to enjoy the gentle spring breeze, but gave a wider berth as Havski threw herself into a full gallop, completely in time with her rider. Elsa had grace in many ways Eric simply didn't, especially on horseback, so he and Kjekk admired from afar, at least until he saw them both galloping towards the road with too little time to stop.

"Elsa, wait--!"

He spurred his own horse on, but it was too late--he watched her skid to the ground, and he barely kept his own seat when he halted Kjekk a few paces away, dismounting and dropping right to his knees at Elsa's side.

He held one hand at Elsa's shoulder, and held the other up before Havski, hoping desperately he could reassure the mare as much as he could his own dog. "Hey, shhh, easy. I've got her from here."

To Elsa, he reassured as he turned to her, keeping his voice measured and calm despite scanning her for visible injuries. "I've got you. Can you tell me what hurts?"
