10 Song Drabble Challenge (Sterek)
A/N: Youâre only supposed to write for as long as the song is playing. For some of these, I cheated. :p
1)Â Â Â Â Â âJoy of Nothingâ- Foy Vance
Derek pulls up to the burned out husk of his former home. He still misses it, misses the family he lost in those walls. That will never change. But heâs come to realize that he doesnât have to hold onto the guilt left in the wake of Kateâs actions.
Stepping out of the car, he breathes deep and still smells hints of smoke, charred wood, decay. But he also smells flowers, trees, a fox thatâs been rooting around here recently. He smells life still carrying on around the remains of his former home.
âYou ready?â Stiles asks as he steps out of the car too and joins Derek, at his side. âIf you need to wait, you can. No oneâs trying to rush you, Derek.â
âNo. I mean, yes, Iâm ready. I know I donât have to, but Iâm ready,â Derek says, pulling Stiles closer to his side.
It was a tragedy but itâs not one that he has to bear alone anymore. Heâs got a new pack, now. Itâs not the same and he doesnât want it to be, but they care about him. Heâs got Stiles now too, his anchor.
Heâs ready to let the past go.
His future is looking pretty bright.
2)Â Â Â Â Â âGood Girlsâ- 5 Seconds of Summer
Stiles climbs out his window as quietly as he can, which isnât all that quietly apparently. His father is waiting for him on the front porch.
Stiles freezes when he sees the sheriff, arms crossed, looking like Stiles is his greatest disappointment.
The sheriff doesnât speak, just points to the door and waits as Stiles slumps back into the house.
âDo I even need to tell you how grounded you are?â Stiles hears once his dad shuts the door behind them.
âDad, come on! Itâs just a party with Scott,â Stiles argues. He thinks heâs become a pretty good liar lately.
âItâs just you using Scott as a cover to meet up with your much older boyfriend that you think I donât know about,â the sheriff counters.
Stiles has no words. Besides âHow?â
âStiles, Iâm the sheriff. I have ways.â
Stile shakes off his surprise. âOk, how about this? You let me go on this, our absolute first date, I swear, and Iâll invite him for breakfast in the morning so that you can meet him and give him the third degree?â
âDid you forget the part where youâre grounded?â
Stiles huffs and storms back up the stairs.
But itâs okay, Derek is waiting for him up there. Heâs much better at stealth than Stiles.
 3)     âJust Keep Breathingâ â We the Kings
Derek looks down on the sleeping face of the boy next to him. He doesnât know what heâs done to deserve such a perfect moment, but heâll gladly give up the rest of time, if he can just stay here for a little while longer.
The sunlight slants through the loft windows, catching Stilesâ features just right, making him look like the angel Derek absolutely knows heâs not. Angels donât know all the tricks that Stiles knows for how to use his mouth. They donât speak the filth that falls from Stilesâ lips when Derek slowly takes him apart. They donât make Derekâs heart overflow with warmth and joy, every time he lays eyes on them.
Stilesâ eyelids flutter as he wakes and thatâs okay, because the sleepy smile he gives Derek is perfect too. As is the sleep-sour kiss they share.
Itâs moments like these, Derek doesnât feel the weight of loss on his shoulders. Only the cleansing power of each deep breath as he carries on, the beat of a heart thatâs learned to love again. And with it, the realization that if it doesnât last, heâs strong enough to carry on.
 4)     âStayâ â Artist Vs. Poet
âStay,â Stiles pleads, pulling Derek back in for another kiss.
âI have to go patrol the preserve,â Derek argues but does nothing to actually suggest heâs against kissing Stiles for the rest of the night.
Stiles hums against his lips and crawls over his lap to straddle him. He knows, he just doesnât care. He cares more about the taste of Derekâs lips and the feel of their clothed erections when they rub against each other.
âStiles,â Derek whines. Heâs got a job to do. Heâs been slacking off a lot lately, he canât keep letting Stiles distract him.
âStay,â Stiles says again, leaning back to tug his shirt off.
The pale planes of Stilesâ lightly defined chest call out to Derekâs hands, he simply has to run his fingers over every inch. It will take at least half an hour to give Stilesâ nipple the full attention they deserve with his fingers. And then heâll have to lavish them with attention from his mouth. And then, of course, heâll have to move down to Stilesâ dick and give that some attention too. Followed by his pert, round ass. Itâs a tough job but Derek signed on to be the one to do it three months ago when they finally gave in to⊠whatever they are. This could take all night, really.
âStay,â Stiles insists again, like itâs his own personal mantra, as his lips attack Derekâs throat.
 5)     âAll Over Youâ â The Spill Canvas
Derek glares across the club. He finally let Isaac drag him out after four months of moping over his break up with Stiles and this is what he gets? Stiles with another guy all over him?? Fuck everything.
Stiles laughs and grinds back against the interloper. Thatâs what Derek is calling him, because he doesnât belong with Stiles. Derek fucking does.
Seeing enough, he stalks towards them, leaving Isaac behind midsentence.
Stiles freezes when he sees Derek, eyes trailing over his body. Derek can see the hunger still buried in his gaze. Hell, he can smell it.
âHi, Stiles,â Derek greets him with a smirk. Stiles still wants him, heâs practically drowning Derek in the scent of his lust.
âDerek,â Stiles returns, trying to pretend heâs not as affected as he is.
âWhoâs the new guy?â Derek asks with a raised brow, not even looking at the new guy.
âIâm-â the guy tried to introduce himself but Stiles cuts him off.
 6)     âNever Enoughâ â One Direction
Derek doesnât know how he let his pack talk him into this. Spin the Bottle, really? How old are they? Oh, yeah. Theyâre teenagers. They have an excuse. He doesnât.
Heâs about to vacate his spot in their circle of delinquents and just call it quits for the night. Go to bed and let his pack deal with their hormones without him.
But then the bottle stops spinning and itâs pointed at him. He doesnât even know who heâs supposed to be kissing. Thatâs how much attention heâs been paying.
Erica whoops with joy. âGet to it, boys. My little Sterek heart canât handle the suspense.â
Sterek? Isnât that what she calls him and⊠Stiles.
Stiles is staring at him from the other side of the circle cheeks pinking just the slightest bit, scent filling with equal amounts embarrassment and arousal. Huh.
Derek watches as Stiles squares his shoulders, jaw set with determination as he leans forward and crawls across the circle. One hand rising up to cup Derekâs cheek as he dives in to press their lips together.
Itâs sort of a kneejerk reaction for Derek to cup the back of Stilesâ head and hold him there, opening his mouth when Stileâs tongue swipes across his lips. Surprise colors his scent as he presses in deep, licking into Derekâs mouth reverently, like he doesnât expect to get to do it again so heâs going to make the most of it now.
When he pulls back, Derek pulls him back in. One kiss like that just isnât enough.
7)Â Â Â Â Â âBattleshipsâ â Daughtry
âWhat did you just say?â Stiles asks, voice low and dangerous and Derek knows heâs really stepped in it this time. Heâs too stubborn to back down though.
âI said. Iâm not going. To the stupid dinner,â Derek repeats word for word, slowly like Stiles is a particularly dense child.
âStupid,â Stiles repeats in a mutter, eyes never leaving Derek, jaw clenching. âYou think itâs stupid celebrating my dadâs anniversary?â
Derek sighs. Thatâs not what he meant. âThatâs not what I meant.â
âReally? Because it seems like every time I try to take you to hang out with my family, itâs stupid or youâre too tired, or youâve suddenly got to work late. Why donât you just admit it, Derek? You donât want to be around my family!â Stiles fumes.
âDonât do that,â Derek yells back.
âDo what, Derek? Tell the truth for once?â Stiles slumps against the sofa in defeat. âMaybe this isnât going to work.â
âWhat?â Derek asks, eyes wide as he stares at Stiles from behind the kitchen counter. His heart is thumping madly.
âLook, my family is the most important thing in the world to me, Derek. And that includes you but what am I supposed to do when you donât even want to be a part of it?â Stiles asks, eyes pleading Derek for an answer that wonât mean the end of them.
âStiles, no,â Derek shakes his head, hands trembling. He pushes away from the counter and rushes to his loverâs side. âI do. I want that more than anything. I justâŠI know how important your dadâs approval is to you and Iâm afraid Iâm going to do something to make him hate me,â Derek admits.
Stiles groans, slapping a hand against Derekâs chest. âYou already are, you idiot. If you want him to like you, then let him see how happy it makes me when youâre with me instead of how miserable I am when youâre not.â
Derek really is an idiot. âI can definitely do that.â
Stiles smiles and pulls him into a kiss and he thinks maybe theyâll be okay now.
8) Â Â Â âRiver Of Tearsâ â Alessia Cara
âThis?â Scott asks, holding up a signed T-shirt that Derek had gotten him from a concert theyâd gone to on their third date. It was autographed by every member of Marianas Trench, one of Stilesâ favorite bands.
Stiles stares at it longingly before sighing. âBox it.â
Scott drops in into the box with the other things theyâve found that Derek gave him. âAre you sure youâre gonna be okay?â
Stiles smiles sadly at his best friend. Will he be okay? Yes. Eventually. âIâm sure.â
âYou know what might make you feel better than going to that jerkâs place and giving him all his stuff back? Burning it,â Scott suggests, tossing a stuffed bear in the box without asking. He knows Stiles well enough to know the things heâd have already gotten rid of if they hadnât been from Derek.
âTwo problems with that, Scotty,â Stiles replies picking a pair of Derekâs basketball shorts up from the floor and tossing them in the box as well. âOne, if I do that, I might as well just set my whole room on fire. Everything I look at reminds me of some stupid thing Derek did or said. And two, thereâs such a thing as closure, buddy. And I canât get that if I canât see his stupid alpha face when I throw all his shit at it.â
Scott bobs his head in agreement. âTrue.â
âSee? I know what Iâm doing, Scotty boy. You donât have to worry about me.â
 9)     âAct Like You Love Meâ â Shawn Mendez
Derek curled his body around Stilesâ sleeping form. He was leaving tomorrow, heading off to college and Derek was terrified.
What if Stiles found someone he liked better than Derek? What if he found someone his own age, someone he actually had things in common with? What if he moved on while Derek was here in Beacon Hills, waiting for him?
Derek let out an unsteady breath against the back of Stilesâ neck.
Stiles scrunched his shoulders up at the feel of it.
âTickles,â he muttered, still mostly asleep.
âSorry,â Derek kissed his neck in apology.
Stiles scooted back in his arms, snuggling deeper into his embrace. âSâokay,â he slurred.
Derek waited for his breathing to even out again before he let his worries overtake him once more. âPlease donât forget me,â He whispered a prayer against the neck of Stilesâ sleepshirt, hoping not to wake him again. âDonât forget that I love you. Or that you loved me back once.â
He bit his inner cheek and refusds to let the tears welling in his eyes slip free.
10)Â Â âLove Me Like You Doâ â Ellie Goulding
Fingertips trail down Derekâs stomach, grazing over his abs with reverence.
He canât even blink his eyes open yet, but heâs still ready to take care of his omega if he needs him. âAre youâŠâ He tries to say, mouth dry with sleep.
âNo, Iâm fine,â Stilesâ honeyed voice answers even though Derek wasnât able to finish his question. Heâs always doing that. âSorry I woke you,â he says, kissing Derekâs chest lightly.
âItâs okay,â Derek answers, finally getting his eyes to open just a crack.
Stiles is smiling back at him, a softness to his gaze that makes Derekâs heart beat a little faster in his chest.
âI was just thinking about how lucky I am,â Stiles tells him, fingertips still working over his skin.
âIâm the lucky one,â Derek says honestly, bending to get a taste of his omegaâs lips. His heat was nearly over and Derek was dreading leaving this room, having to go back to the real world where he had to share Stiles with other people.
The heady scent of Stiles arousal hit him suddenly and Derek was quick to pull the omega on top of him. He was rather fond of letting Stiles set his own pace.
âDerek,â Stiles stared down at him, desire heavy in his gaze.
âYes, Stiles,â Derek smirked back.
âWill I what?â Derek asked, reaching up to caress Stilesâ cheek. It wasnât often that he became timid but Derek ate it up when he did, having to coax the other boy into asking for what he wanted.
âThis time, when you knot me,â Stiles looked nervous, âwill you bite me?â
Mates. Stiles wanted Derek to give him the mating bite.
Stiles bit his lip then bent forward and bit Derekâs. âAbsolutely.â
