The Apostle would have us keep silence, for in silence he tells us to work. As the Prophet also makes known to us: Silence is the way to foster holiness. Elsewhere he says: Your strength will lie i...

HEALTH - Vitamin D and breast cancer
A new study published in the journal Cancer Causes and Control revealed that women with high levels of Vitamin D in their blood decrease their chances of developing breast cancer by up to three times.
The study led by researchers from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and collaborated with researchers from San Diego State University and Heartland Assays of Ames, Iowa, examined blood levels of 1,200 healthy women, 600 of whom later developed breast cancer while the other 600 remained healthy. Virgen dela Regla pilgrim
Billy Morales, 50, has been coming to the the Virgen dela Regla parish for 20 years now. The blind person from Leyte plays a makeshift single-string instrument cobbled together from bits of wood. He uses an empty bottle of liniment as guitar slide.
Billy says he comes to Lapu-Lapu every fiesta as “panaad” or religious vow to the Lady of the Rule. He prays for “grasya nga mabuhi.” On a slow day, he gets P100 in alsm. During the fiesta, he can get up to P1,000 from generous churchgoers.
Original Peace
It is not necessary to search for peace. It is within. Your original state is one of peace. Learn to be in charge of yourself and maintain your peace: centre your awareness on your spiritual form - a tiny star-like point of light, seated in the middle of your forehead. Really experience the difference between You the Sparkling Star, and your body, the physical vehicle. Learn to detach yourself from the vehicle. Even a few moments of this practice, if done regularly, will return you to your natural state of peace. And your actions will be filled with love - for the self and others.
FOI bill is dead in 15th Congress, say advocates who blame 'conspiracy'
MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE 6:54 pm) Advocates pushing for the Freedom of Information (FOI) bill denounced Tuesday the virtual killing of the bill, over a decade in the legislative mill, by the simple failure of a congressional panel to have a report approved in today’s long-awaited hearing.
“BATTERY, ASSAULT, and MURDER” or “BAM” for short is “what happened to the FOI bill today at the hearing of the Committee on Public Information of the House of Representatives,” said the statement signed by advocates including journalists, press-freedom advocates, transparency and good governance champions, declaring that for all intents and purposes, “the FOI bill is dead in the 15th Congress.” (Read more →)
Catch AI's Kelly Clarkson's newest music video, Catch My Breath
CEBU, Philippines - While there are dishes that require the strict compliance of procedure, Plantation Bay's Manny Gonzalez pointed out that there are also dishes that would only require a complete set of ingredients, and I would add, common sense.
The latter I have to add, because some might think that it's alright to, let's say, put in the vegetables first before the oil when sautéing. Although, come to think of it, broiling does sometimes add flavor to the dish, but common sense would be needed for one to decide on what is best for the dish that he's making.
