Izzy rolled her eyes, shaking her head. “Honest soul. Right, I believe you.” She said. “I’d throw a book at you, but sadly I don’t have one with me right now. Maybe next time.” Of course she was only partially joking. The book did come in handy when she needed to put him in his place. She can’t say that it was a completely bad idea to start carrying a book around with her. The problem is finding books thick enough to do a decent amount of damage. Maybe she’ll just start carrying an encyclopedia around.
Hearing him compliment it made her a bit happy. “Thank you.” She said, her mood brightening a little. She hoped it didn’t look too bad. Of course, Izzy wasn’t going for a professional level of work, but she did hope that it was decent enough so it wasn’t laughable. “Do you want it?” She asked curiously, not sure why she was asking. She usually didn’t do anything with it after she made it and leaving it to sit in a trunk didn’t sound good either. “I usually just put them in a trunk in my room and they just sit there collecting dust. If you like it, you can have it when I’m finished.”
"Unarmed, then? Well golly-gee, I can deliver as much sass as I want!" he said with a laugh. Knowing the girl as well (or little) as he did, she would probably return home, find the largest book available, and then track him down just to brain him with it. Of course, all he had to do was to be undiscoverable.
The uplift of her features and the shine in her eyes put him at ease and made his smile that much easier. Todd had always enjoyed making people smile and laugh, though that war had tried to take that away from him. "Doomed to a life of dark and dust? That's unfortunate. Why make them if you're just gonna hide them away from the world?"
"You might be right about that Todd."
"I'm an insult to my gender."
"But I can see why you're able to run such a successful business."

'I'll just be another minute, sweetheart.”
"Hey!" She laughed, pushing his hand off. "I’m trying not to look like a drowned cat." She attempted to fix her wet hair, failing, but eventually just pushed the strands back from her face.
"I can’t exactly go back home looking like this and having everyone question me now can I?" She asked, an amused smile forming. "Besides you’re not in any better condition than I am."
"Well then, I'm tryin' to help ya!" he said with a wide smile. "Drowned cats have all their fur matted down and flat."
"My condition may not be any better, but I could just go home as-is and not be questioned. I s'pose being a grown-up does have its perks. Such as living on your own."
"Oh, um. I’m sorry to hear that. I more so meant where were you living before Ever After."
"No it’s nothing serious. But I don’t want to take up anymore of your time. I’ll get out of your hair."
"Oh... uhm... Tunisia, Italy... a few other countries in-between... and before that, the States."
"If you're sure. What was your name again? Maybe we could grab a few drinks sometime."

"Sir? Lawd, either you're a mistress o' double standards or you're more wiley than I thought."

"Sir? No-no-no-no-no. No. 'Sir' is for grouchy old drunks who shoot at neighbour kids jus' for wanting to play with their friends. That ain't me."
"That doesn’t make it any less embarrassing."
"Embarrassing? Hmm..."
"How 'bout the time I spotted this gal -- a real looker, you see -- and we manage to hit it off. So we sneak outside, yeah? Things are going great, and then she moans out my name -- or rather, the name I gave her -- and who should suddenly pop in with a cheeky-ass grin but the real owner o' the name I gave her. Lawd, that was one hell of a night. I done never been slapped as bad as that."
"Where the hell am I?"
"War, so you served then. I’m sorry to hear that, though I thank you for your service sir."
"Do you do well for yourself now at least?"
"Yeah, my country thanked me too. And then told me good luck living in this little town that won't let me leave. Some gratitude, huh?"
"I've got a roof over my head, so I guess I'm doing good. I didn't already ask what you do, did I?"
