You know, it's not every day I meet a real life criminal.
Oh! Sorry, I didn't see you there...
"What is this?"
"Itās delicious!"
"Really? You like it?"
something magical {jillian & faye}
This was the magical thing about Fridays--there were so few classes offered that the University was so empty it was like a ghost town. Jillian sighed as she walked across campus, bundling up her coat in the crisp autumn air. The change of the seasons was one of Jillian's favorite times of the year, and this evening was no different. Her class had gotten out early, and now she had the rest of the day to do whatever she pleased.Ā The young woman smiled to herself as she walked down the street, towards the rest of the town.
It wasn't until she was halfway to the palace that it occurred to her--I could go somewhere. See the town. No one would notice I was gone. Almost as if her feet had made the decision for her, she veered to the right, onto a side street and towards the bar she'd stumbled upon before. The man in there had been a bit rude, but he had been right--she did need to get out more. So here she was, tiptoeing inside of a bar in the middle of the afternoon, looking around timidly at the large, quiet room.
ladies in waiting {jillian & jane}
It was another beautiful day--the sun was out, the birds were singing, and Jillian was stuck inside the palace. She didn't have class today, and there was some sort of meeting (not that anyone would care if she missed it), so Jillian was officially trapped in her Courtly duties for the remainder of the day. Which, naturally, meant she was wandering the halls aimlessly.
It wasn't until she was on the floor with a loudĀ thud that the girl even realized what had happened. Panicked, she quickly looked around, immediately switching into recovery mode towards the young woman she'd just run into.Ā Jillian tucked a lock of dark auburn hair back behind her ear as she hurried to pick up the scattered contents of the girl's bag. "I'm so sorry, Miss," she started, afraid to look the woman in the eye in case it was one of the princesses.
FLASHBACK: i'll be off where the weeds run wild {jillian & tanner}
He hadnāt been terribly helpful, so she probably wasnāt going to take to nicely to him tagging along. She looked frustrated as it was. But he was friends with her brother, and no way was he going to let a nine old girl wander around the forest when he didnāt know if she could watch out for herself here.
"Iām coming. I donāt want you to die or something."
She was getting beyond frustrated with the boy now, for being so indecisive, but she had to admit, she appreciated the gesture. As she walked, Jillian turned back, giving the boy a curious look.
"You're really weird. You know that?"
In what way did it seem like I was inviting you to come along, little girl?
When you said you were headed back to the palace, I guess I just assumed you meant I should go, too...
Warren did his best to ignore the excited flutter in his chest when Jillianās hand brushed his.Ā It was silly.Ā It was foolish.Ā She made him feel like such an idiotānot stupid, but certainly ridiculous.Ā Even soā¦it was nice being around her.
"Well, so far the littlest one over there is the only one not spoken for, but I bet I can find him a home.Ā There are plenty of good dogs at my house, Jillian.Ā I think it might make some other people happy to have good dogs too."
Jillian bent down,trying not to blush as she reached out for the pup he had indicated. Everything was so easy around Warren, but so difficult at the same time. It was like she was hyperaware of everything she did, yet she still had no control whatsoever--which, naturally, ended in some form of embarrassment. "Well, I think he's lovely," she declared, scooping up the pup and holding it close. "Does he have a name yet?"
today was a pretty day...
"Oh, I really wish I could, but I was actually about to go work on this big project..."
"Are you sure this is going to work?"
"Probably because they are a couple drinks in. But I bet if you asked them if everything was okay in their lives they would say the answer is no."
"Well, that's just awful."
"Sounds amazing!"
"Iād love to!"
"Great! Let's get going, then!"
"Wow really?! Iād love to!"
"Lead the way!"
"Of course! I doubt I could finish one on my own."
"I doubt itās even that scary. Probably going to be more of something to laugh at than scream."
"Well, there's only one way to find out!"
"Iām not sure itās the outside appearance one should worry about, young miss."
"People seem to be exiting quite terrified."
"Well, maybe it's fun!"
