Player!Angel theory gaining the reputation of "I'm roleplaying as an all-powerful god" makes me so so sad. There's so much rich nuance to your situation as the Angel, and it is all thrown away for a mustache twirling interpretation of an uncaring god. Not to say that varied interpretations of Angels and Players aren't awesome, but OOF I think people are missing out.

Like yep! You're just as much of a pawn in this prophecy as everyone else, and your own fate has already been shown to you: Banishment. Being left behind for good! All the while, your role has put you in the position of trying to guide three heroes through a prophecy that likely will lead to them all dying, and you have to do all of this while caged and with very little actual agency.

I sure don't feel like an all-powerful god in this narrative!!! The distance only makes connection with the characters harder, because you're supposed to be one layer above them, just like Ralsei insinuates about Lightners and Darkners. And yet, you so dearly care anyway, even though the one thing that the prophecy says about you is that you will be banished. If you ever resent the fact that you cannot be friends with them, you shouldn't actually. You always knew what you were. Why did you expect it to be any different?

Maybe one day I'll analyze the theory more in depth like I did for Ralsei (I still don't see enough people talking about the different depiction of the Delta Rune in Sword Route and what that means for Noelle).
