Okay wait, bingyuan role swap au where Binghe is a guy who normally reads stallion novels but he starts reading a danmei web novel by Liu Mingyan

So obviously, Shen Yuan is a half-demon prince raised as a human by his found family brother Shen Jiu. They have a tragic backstory where they grow up on the streets and become slaves yada yada

They escape together, Shen Jiu doesn’t think they’ll make it and tries to wait for Yue Qi but Shen Yuan has less hope and convinces him to run away, and are taken in under a demonic cultivator (Wu Yanzi). While cultivating this way, it’s absolutely wrecking Shen Jiu’s meridians and spiritual visions while Shen Yuan takes to it like a fish to water. Eventually, Shen Jiu starts getting frequent qi deviations because of this. So, they make it to the Immortal Alliance Conference like in Shen Jiu’s backstory and Shen Jiu has a qi deviation and Wu Yanzi attempts to kill him bc power, ya know and Shen Yuan kills him instead. They run in Yue Qi who helps them cover it up and they take Shen Jiu back to the sect.

The deviation leaves Shen Jiu comatose and Shen Yuan becomes a disciple of Qian Cao to try and find a way to wake him up. Obviously he has an abusive peak lord for one reason or another. Or maybe the deviation leads to Shen Jiu becoming horrible idk but either way, Shen Jiu ends up pushing him into the abyss and from there, Shen Yuan starts collecting his harem to try and fill the void and to help him with his demonic stuff (maybe he has Xin Mo but if it was, it wouldn’t be a sword I think)

Edit: he could also be pushed into the abyss at the original immortal alliance conference where Shen Jiu has his deviation or something

And that’s as far as I got for the book. But anyway, Luo Binghe gets so obsessed with it and loves Shen Yuan as a character and thinks he deserves better and when he dies he gets transmigrated and that’s all I got so far but this idea grabbed me by the throat and threatened to kill my family if I didn’t write it down

This is such a cool concept! I do kind of wonder how LBH fits into all of this though? Like, maybe he's still SJ's disciple, but he's actually kiond of a conniving snake type of character? Or maybe he's the sort of character who dies tragically young? IDK a lot of interesting ideas to play with here

The strange relationship Wei Wuxian has with Mo Xuanyu absolutely kills me. Wakes up in a confusing place and the very first thing he does is go through every scrap of paper he can find and learn the story of the man who gave up his body for him. Puts everything on pause so he can mentally curse out the people who did this to him. The instant sympathy. It's about the human connection and the grief felt for the very person whose death is the very reason he has a second chance. Never forget that the reason Wei Wuxian snapped back to Jin Ling was because he felt he had to defend Mo Xuanyu's honor. It's never an angst Wei Wuxian feels, but instead a reaching across to the afterlife he just came from and saying "I see you. If no one else in your shitty life ever spoke up for you, then I will." The series doesn't spend too much time lingering on it because we have places to go and people to see, but the fact that before he did any of that, the first thing Wei Wuxian wanted to do was wash their face and simply acknowledge the life of a man who died too young.

I honestly wish there was more written about this because it's what actually hooked me on the story initially. The way that it acknowledged Mo Xuanyu and his life was fascinated to me. I wish I could find more fics where he got to live in some way.
