My chosen name reflects a relationship to gender. Having the wrong name applied to me makes me dysphoric because it of the way it dismisses my gender expression. This doesn’t mean that everyone who has my (gendered) name is the same gender as me.

My clothes reflect a relationship to gender. Being forced to wear clothes that are gendered incorrectly makes me feel dysphoric because of the way it interferes with my gender expression. This doesn’t mean that everyone who wears the same (gendered) style is the same gender as me.

Likewise:

My pronouns reflect a relationship to gender. Having the wrong pronouns applied to me makes me dysphoric because of the way it dismisses and interferes with my gender expression. This doesn’t mean that everyone who uses the same gendered pronouns is the same gender as me.

I don’t like to talk about people on this blog—especially when I’ve blocked them and hence they can’t easily defend themselves—so much as the arguments they’re making and the harm they cause, but while TSL has said some of the absolute worst things of everyone I’m dealt with—gaslighting, eugenics, “trans cult”—he’d always seemed more rationally-minded than most and I (naïvely?) thought there might be some common ground to sway him with. But preferring an incompetent fascist to a competent Democrat? Thinking he’s “not [going to] change much of everything” as if he hasn’t already made things significantly worse in so many ways in the past four years? To the detriment of the public? Not counting the thousands of deaths he's responsible for in this pandemic?

I don’t know how to reconcile all of that with someone who supposedly cares about trans people’s lives and welfare. So I’m just...going to stop trying.

Half of this is complete bull. I fly in my binder all the time, and nothing bad has ever happened. I also have been over eight hours every day since I was sixteen. Not sleeping in it’s a good idea, and obviously you shouldn’t wear it to work out, but this infantilism and blatantly unfollowable advice is completely insane. Nobody is only awake for eight hours, and plane rides last multiple hours. No trans guy can just not wear a binder, not without a complete dysphoric crash, and acting like the binder is a fashion accessory we can just take off whenever we feel like it is complete bull.

What you’re saying isn’t just wrong but dangerous.

Saying you’ve worn a binder for over 8 hours or while flying “and nothing bad has ever happened” is faulty induction. That nothing bad has happened to you (yet!) does not mean nothing bad can happen to you if you do so in the future, or that nothing bad can happen to anyone else who does the same. The harm binding can cause may be incremental, too, and not immediately apparent.

That “no trans guy can just not wear a binder, not without a complete dysphoric crash” is also fallacious, but even if we were to accept if for the sake of argument being conscious of the risks in binding does not mean treating it as a “fashion accessory”. These aren’t instructions for how to have fun wearing a binder; they’re instructions to be safe. No amount of dysphoria from not binding will make up for that safety.

Just post grunge/punk stuff that looks like it could be in trendercore and post with with the trucore tag + anti truscum/transmed/trumed, mogai, tucute, and trender tags, add supportive captions with the option of emojis, feel free to add a matching dni if you want, things like that, also try and get other tucutes/trenders into it.
