I think I might be starting to understand it now...

otherkin which I don’t believe as far as I’m concerned   it’s identifying as something besides a human whether it be fictional, and animal or mythical creature. You feel a strong, personal connection towards that thing and you believe you are in some shape or form that ‘thing’. 

At first I just thought it was stupid preteens being weird but from looking at it a bit more it goes a little deeper. The main reason people participate in ‘otherkin’ (in my educated guess) would be because it brings you to a sort of comfort zone. It’s like a safe space. Some place where they can be themselves and have a sense of belonging. It’s simply an outlet psychologically. 

As annoying as it may be it’s similar behavior as to the furry community and “Little space”(?) But you’re not hurting anyone and it’s a outlet for you, listen man, I’m happy for you if you’re happy, you do you. 

But where I draw the line is saying you have a mental illness because of what ever happened to you in your past “life” Or blaming inappropriate actions on your kin type: I.E “Oh well I’m werewolfkin so I can’t help when I lash out”. You can and that’s not how it works .  You can have a safe outlet with out dragging mental illness (that you haven’t been diagnosed with) in and using your ‘kintype’ as an excuse.

i have never seen as much homophobia ever, anywhere, than there is in the trans community. no one is obligated to date you. no one is obligated to have sex with you. it is not transphobia is a cis lesbian will not date a trans woman. it is not transphobia is a cis gay will not date a trans man.
