viva knieval; kathleen hanna’s second band, after amy carter.
they went on a two month tour in the us then disbanded. their only release was a self-titled 7" on Ultrasound Records (ran by cindy wolfe), recorded in 1990. kathleen hanna on vocals, zeb olsen on bass, matt (?) on drums, and stuart olsen on guitar. the ep is up on youtube :)
Lil Nas X is so fucking powerful. He's a black queer man who's unapologetically queer. And he doesn't give a shit what homophobic white conservatives have to saw about him. All his songs are amazing. He makes white racist homophobic people feel uncomfortable and that's fucking amazing.
babes in toyland!!
I think i would die live at the metro in 1994 in honor of live through this 27th anniversary!

im pretty sure this was in the early 80s but idk
rip to these absolutely amazing people. both of their music helped me so much and even though i’ve never met them, i miss them a shit ton.
The experiences of conventionally attractive people and conventionally unattractive people can be so jarringly different and it really deserves some conversation. But I hate how the only mention of this comes from incels or anti-feminists or other right aligned losers with not an ounce of nuance in their bones lmaooo
Like, your physical attractiveness can shape not just your interpersonal experiences but also real tangible things such as but no limited to whether or not you get a job or being believed as a victim or what kind of roles you can get as an actor or perhaps the length of a sentence or how much help is offered to you in a time of need etc. etc.
I JUST REMEMBERED I HAVE THIS BOOK ABOUT KURT AND-
bikini kill in 1992!
not only do i support lil nas x appropriating characters and symbols from christianity to make horny, campy gay hip-hop videos, i think this sets the bar for lgbt media in the future. fuck that "were just like you!" respectability shit. i need all gay artists to make their work exactly as hostile and disrespectful to the christian right as the christian right has been to gay people for all of its history.
this goes for the christian "allies" who are hand-wringing over that video too. "im glad hes proud of who he is, but these images are sacred to some peoples beliefs and he needs to respect that!" no, he doesnt, and in fact if your "gay art" is palatable to homophobic christians, it is not good gay art.
THIS!!!
