Streaming isn’t as accessible as people pretend it is.
It has two paywalls: first, you have to pay for internet access, and second, you have to pay for the streaming service itself. On top of that, millions of people still live with limited high-speed data plans, making hours of streaming expensive or impractical.
Free, over-the-air television doesn’t have those barriers. It reaches everyone, doesn’t consume mobile data, and has historically created the massive audiences that supported stable jobs throughout the entertainment industry.
I don’t think the future is streaming alone. I think the future is a partnership between free broadcast TV and streaming libraries—accessibility on one hand, convenience and consumer choice on the other.
What if our phones had built-in TV tuners again? What if broadcasters invested in content that younger audiences actually wanted to watch? Could a new generation rediscover free television?

What makes this proposal so disturbing is that it attempts to bind future generations to decisions they never consented to. Americans who are not even born yet may one day reject Israel’s human rights record, oppose deeper intelligence integration, or want a different foreign policy entirely. Yet politicians today are trying to lock those future citizens into commitments they never voted for.
Democracy is supposed to allow each generation to chart its own course. Handcuffing tomorrow’s Americans to today’s foreign policy agenda is not leadership—it’s an abuse of power.
Washington legalized corruption and told us to call it politics. I’m a Democrat, and I’m tired of watching both parties put donors, lobbyists, and foreign interests ahead of the American people.
