not a minor, but I am a young adult, so please be civil.
keep political discourse at least ten feet from this blog at all times.
multifandom, I try to tag everything appropriately so if you want to filter out fandoms you don't want to see, you should be able to.
Media I love:
Call of Duty - Horrid Henry - The Hunger Games - Carmen Sandiego - The Magnus Archives - Why Women Kill - The Legend of Vox Machina - Kpop Demon Hunters - Killing Eve - NBC Hannibal - Killing Stalking - A Series of Unfortunate Events
Thing to note:
I enjoy the psychological horror aspect of the romantic/implied romatic relationships of the characters portrayed in Killing Eve, Hannibal and Killing Stalking but do NOT ship them whatsoever. I'm not made for toxic yaoi, (or whatever the kids are into these days).
This is a sideblog so I cannot follow back :')
But if filteredsunlight pops up in your notes, thats me!
Carmen sandiego live action fan cast because im insane (some are actors and some are models cuz this is more supposed to be a look alike than a proper cast! <3)
This is very inspired by @trxshpoetry post!!!

Dr. Bellum - Desi actress Nandita Das
Professor maelstrom - Scandinavian (Dinamarca) actor Mads Mikkelsen

At his core, Robert Robertson considers himself to be a tool to use to better the lives of other people, and this colours the way he sees the world and his place in it. He knows he has a place in the world, can take up space and connect with other people, but there is always the underlying understanding that his purpose, his raison d’être is to help other people no matter the cost to himself. He takes up space but only in so much that he needs to- to be able to make himself available for other people’s needs.
Imagine the inherent tragedy of Gray having always been in love with Carmen and then when she has her Dark!red era, she begins to fall for him, too, in her own coldhearted way, but its just not... right.
He enjoys the attention because she's finally giving him everything he dreamed of, but its not right. its not the Carmen he fell in love with and sometimes he forgets that until he's made to remember how heartless she can be.
She doesn't love him in the way he wanted her to, but she's drawn to him and the physicality of a thing between them... she doesn't want to give it a name. He wonders if a small uncorrupted part of her is trying to claw its way back into conciousness, but it gets lost in translation, and any residual softness she felt for him is trapped in this corrupted Carmen's need to feel physically close to him while still being cold and abrasive.
They work together, share passionate moments in haste and in secret. If he squints, its just passable as real enough that he can get away with it.
Sure, the guilt eats him alive, knowing this isn't the Black Sheep he grew to admire, and the Carmen Sandiego he grew to yearn for on her capers around the world. But when she kisses him with need, he can pretend its because she wants it, really actually wants him, too.
Its when she pushes for more that he realises he cannot keep doing this. He wants her, he's wanted her for ages but he cannot do it.
VILE stole her ability to consent to hurting innocent people, he will not have this corrupted persona of her steal her ability to consent to giving herself to him like this. Even if this side of her doesn't think sex with him is a big deal, its not right to take advantage of her like this.
He knew it all along that manipulating her like this was wrong, he hates that he's selfish enough that THIS had to be the wakeup call to kick him into taking action.
He knows first hand the trauma of losing and regaining your memories and losing parts of yourself at the hands of others. He messed up and if she hates him for it when she's herself again, so be it. He'll spend a lifetime atoning for this sin, but at least he'll be trying.
Naturally, when he does wake up in the hospital after almost dying at her hands, he feels the pain contracting in the skin around an ugly wound. Its a physical manifestation of how destroyed he feels for all the wrong he's done. But he's thankful for it, the charred flesh and burnt skin and itching around the healing wound feel like the last pieces of corruption leaving his own system.
He hopes the scar it leaves is ugly and forever painful.
Gray doesn't believe in God, but he'll take this as a branding from the universe, an acknowledgement that the sacrifice of his livelihood as a VILE operative was worthy enough to save Carmen's life.
He doesn't want to see her. She deserves better. His heart will rest easier now that he knows she's safe, with the people who love her.
Gray has ruined her life enough to be certain that the truest act of love he can show her is to let her go.
thinking about this scene in MW2 again because I cannot for the life of me figure out what Soap wanted to say.
He definitely knew Ghost's actual name by then as we hear him call him Simon during the Alone Mission, but I don’t believe he'd out him to Alejandro like that, because he refers to himself as 'Soap' as well and not as John.
They aren't overly familiar with each other at this point but I'm pretty sure Soap would know Ghost enough to guess that he can’t just go around sharing his real name with strangers.
So, if it's not Simon (which I'm like 90% sure it isn't) what else is it? What does Ghost prefer Soap to call him that seemed so important he wanted to share with Alejandro? And even more interesting: did Ghost not want him to share a 'nickname' or whatever because it was private or because he thought it was special for Soap? Because he didn't just interject, he fucking yelled, to shut him the fuck up
actually we see that they have known each other since 2019 due to the flashpoint mission in MWIII and would have probably worked together more between 2019 and 2022.
tbh, nothing in the 2022 campaign screamed that they didn't know each other, just that Ghost seemed to be reluctant to work with him.
I've always assumed that this scene was just meant to be some sort of allusion to an inside joke.
I doubt a taskforce consisting of 4 people would not know each other in person or at least relatively well. We also see that Makarov know's Ghost's name in the helicopter out from Verdansk, so its not a state secret and Soap would have known it by then.
its criminal that I haven't posted something substantial fandom related on this acc in so long. I haven't even added the neat collection of shows from the years 2007 to 2008 specifically that I've watched this year instead of studying.
