i love every single au i've come across so far but this one took the cake. i love the og UT spamtenna but MONSTER/HUMAN UT just hits different.
i love the original concept but i've been listening to too much centaurworld ost, and had been hyperfocusing on the idea of Tenna's 'Lord' status in canon, and seeing how that carries. Notes and more doodles below:

I JUST WANTED TENNA TO BE FANCY IN TRUTH, cuz im a sucker for period dramas. There's a lot i remember floating from twitter but the one i saw the most was like placing spam and tenna in medieval times (to show how long ago its been i guess since humans walked with monsters and used magic).
I tweaked it and borrowed the ant monster design for this cuz I LOVE IT TO BITS OH MY GOODNESS. SO notes:
Tenna is a monster close to the Dreemurrs and got his title on a whim (they thought it'd be fun) he's REALLY close to boss monster but just misses the mark (think more if he were injuried he'd persist like Undyne). While a lord he really is just that fun friend, the monsters love him for being so charismatic and always being entertaining.
Spamton is from a family of human merchants, want him to take on the family biz but his ways are a lil....theatrical. Family doesnt really like how outgoing he is, so Spamton spends his time out closer to monster kind. He met Tenna, they loved eachother's vibes and the rest is history!
Tenna often forgets he has a status among monsterkind, but then he hangs out with Asgore and Toriel who are also pretty lax about it. It was something that REALLY suprised Spamton when he found out, only because....son of some merchants and a HUMAN at that. Made him kinda self conscious but Tenna was there to reassure him it changes nothing between them.
When conflicts between monsters and humans reached a boiling point, Tenna had the idea to leave off somewhere where they could be together. Spamton was hesitant, because things were so bad outside and even within their immediate circle. He agreed soon after tho, while Tenna wanted to leave immediately, Spamton asked one more day to get his affairs in order moving is a lot of work afterall!
Spamton all the while was facing problems at home and communially. Humans glared at him for knowing or suspecting what he goes off doing with monsters, a BIG one at that. Monsters in turn didn't take to him because of guilt by association, he can't help being born a human. The plan would never come to, war had broke out but Spamton was determined to make his way to their meeting place to wait for Tenna (taking supplies and old armor/some costume from their performances to at least look intimidating). He'd eventually be caught (by human, monster, or both), and in the scuffle he perished. Tenna finds him but all too late, just barely hanging onto life. Too much blood, the wounds and blows too deep. Tenna scrambled to find some kinda healing but on the way Spamton dies in his arms. and it rounds back to the comic above. yvu doomed love, torn by grief and war.
