I am in my 20s, a lesbian, southeast asian, and go by they/eye/[REDACTED] pronouns
Give a like if you've read this (current mutuals don't have to)
Extra stuff under the cut
Interests list
Media: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (favorite part is Stone Ocean), Hollow Knight, Little Nightmares, Deltarune, Bugsnax, Bug Fables, Zatch Bell, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K, Monster Hunter Stories
Favorite characters: Star Platinum (JJBA), Lost Kin (HK), Mono and Six (LN)
I like Wind Waker too but I've only known it from like video essays. It's nice. I like ocean exploration.
Music: Various stuff, I can't really pin down what kind of music I like, but my favorite band is Glass Animals and my favorite album from them is Zaba
Misc: Birds (especially vultures and herons), other various animals mostly vertebrates, architecture, cryptids, ghosts, the sea, ghosts from the sea, ghosts from the sea in SEA (southeast asia)....
Keep in mind my brain can only hold in so much info at once (if it could hold more I'd be pursuing ornithology now...) so yeah I don't have expert knowledge in the misc interests, but I still like talking about them
To be clear, THIS is how nights of the future should be lit
This is bat friendly street lighting, which not only looks sick as fuck but allows bats to pass through without disturbance, as they cannot see red.
orange and especially white lights deter bats and prevent them from reaching feeding grounds at nighttime. Please if you can, write to your local council and encourage red street lights!!!!
> medical problem
> unsure if it's serious or will go away on its own
> sees a doctor to be sure
> "why the fuck are you here. this is nothing. it will go away on its own"
> medical problem
> unsure if it's serious or will go away on its own
> decide to wait to not overreact
> problem remains
> sees doctor with concrete problem after all
> "why did you wait so long. we could have done something if you had come immediately"
this is not to say you shouldn't make characters with strabismus- you should! i want to see people with my disabilities! but i think a little research can go a long way. i'd love to see it given more depth in writing than just being an indicator of intelligence (which it isn't and never has been!)
[ID: graphic titled "THIS IS A VISUAL IMPAIRMENT CALLED 'STRABISMUS'!!"
below, are four drawings of a very fluffy creature with different presentations of strabismus. they're each labelled "hypotropia (eye points downward)," "exotropia (eye points outward)," "hypertropia (eye points upward," and "esotropia (eye points inward)."
the last has an arrow, with text reading "i looked like this when i was born!"
bottom text: it's not a quirky character design, it's a real disability!
it does not mean someone is clumsy, "stupid," or autistic
(ableist depictions of autistic and/or otherwise intellectually disabled people often have strabismus. why do you think this is?)
strabismus can occur from birth, later in life due to separate visual impairments, or because of physical trauma or strokes. it can cause permanent vision issues.
i'm partially blind in one eye!
when you design a character, think about if the traits you give them exist on real people! they often do!
what do you want your art to say about disabled people?
crazy how southeast asia doesnt really have the largest big animals, like asian elephants are small compared to their african cousins and sun bears are notably scrawny, meanwhile we have some huge insects and 2 of the 3 largest living snakes
hi! carey means needs help still - he's the voice actor for frylock in aqua teen hunger force! adult swim screwed him badly and pays no residuals and barely paid him during the show's run. he has heart failure and survives on con earnings, plushie sales, and donations while waiting for disability to get back to him. posts used to make the rounds for him, but haven't in a while, so i wanted to make a new post!
if you'd rather buy a plushie - here's the shop he and his wife run!
