At RCW we are big fans of ignoring the calendar. It could be because some students and staff have a set of keys and they refuse to keep the place closed for long. Secret training on Sundays, late night sessions, and Friday when it’s typically social hour, these folks dig in and get it done. Why? It was the start of 2016 and our annual fake goal setting. You know how it goes, lofty aspirations that give way to the impending work week and maybe a holiday hangover. The solution, start right now. In fact, studies show that people who charge toward their goals are much more apt to stick with it than those who wait for the new year to ring them in. I can tell you after training thousands of people over the years, students who join the academy and start martial arts classes in December have stayed with us longer than those who jump on in January. It comes down to a mindset and how we approach our goals.
