well i straight up like. don't post on this blog anymore and i am Going to delete if i can im not sure on like. how that works

but while this blog in practice is not my main anymore it still is my main Technically.. so basically if i send someone an ask or reply to a post thats like registered as being from this blog, and then the next time i go to make or rb a post the little drop down thing resets and makes it go here if i don't change it to the blog i actually want it to go to. basically i fucked up and forgot to change the blog which i wish would happen less bc its fucking annoying

This is what I was trying to say yesterday. Just because the Biden administration has not reached out to you personally in the last 48 hours does not mean things are “the same” or that people are suddenly complacent. It means that your life probably wasn’t being threatened by the last administration.

Democracy takes time and effort, and Inauguration Day this week would have looked a lot different without the millions of people who spent days/weeks/months volunteering and campaigning to ensure this outcome. Complaining that it’s not enough only reveals that you have failed to understand why all those people felt the need to protest and donate and support Joe Biden. It means you failed to understand why people celebrated in the street when we won the election. It wasn’t just for fun and it wasn’t just about getting rid of Trump (although that was a big part of it!). It was because getting rid of Trump’s politics meant saving lives. It was because implementing new progressive policies will save lives. Biden’s executive orders on Day 1 saved lives. Just because you didn’t notice doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

TLDR; Just because an outcome is not tangible for you personally does not mean it wasn’t a positive outcome. Democracy takes a lot of hard work and the people who worked hard to save ours deserve to celebrate this victory. Using your time to judge that celebration wildly misses the point of what we have worked toward for the last four years, and ignores the far more dangerous outcome we narrowly avoided.

i get that things like racism and antisemitism and lgbt+phobia and exclusionism and terf rhetoric and all that are very important topics. i get that they need to be talked about. what i DON’T get is how you feel the need to be ableist when talking about these things.

people with things like adhd and dyslexia genuinely find it difficult to read your five paragraph PSA. people who are still learning your language will find it difficult to read your post. tl;drs genuinely help these people. keep that in mind. if you want to spread the message consider EVERYONE who might want to read it.

tl;dr: don’t fucking use an accessibilty resource to be passive aggressive to people just because you’re mad about the thing you’re talking about.
