Mason: I heard she tends to make everything about herself.
Madison: Shh, if you’re gonna say things like that to me, you need to use your psychic voice.. Got it!
Mason McCarthy and Madison McCarthy - 06x05 The Hurt Locker, Part Two (via gleekquote)
Madison got into her seat, giggling quietly and bouncing a bit in excitement. She was excited, looking forward to getting to go to Comic Con with someone that didn't seem to think she was so insanely annoying. "Are you excited? For Comic Con..."
Clara giggled at Madison's excitement, though she was a little nervous. This was the first time she has gone somewhere without her twin close by. "Y-yeah. S-s-super excited."
Madison was a little nervous about shutting her phone off on the plane, but she had to. Mason couldn't get in touch with her and he was on the other side of the world. Reaching out, she nervously took Clara's hand as the plane took off.
Clara looked down at their joined hands, glad for the comfort. She would always grab San's hand whenever they were on a plane, but she didn't want to just reach out and grab Madison's. "N-nervous?"
Madison nodded, biting her lip. "I just... Mason I've never been this far from him for this long and we normally text each other every twenty minutes. I'm just so worried. I know nobody understands..."
Clara chuckled, "I c-comp-pletely u-un-underst-stand." she said, the nervousness making her stutter worse. "I-i've ne-nev-never b-been away f-fr-from S-s-san, at a-all."
Madison bit her lip a bit harder, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. "We can do this. Everything's going to be alright and we'll be at Comic Con, buying comic books all over the place."
Clara nodded, "Y-yeah. Ri-right."
Madison peeked up at Clara, blushing a bit. "Do you feel any better?"
Clara nodded, "A-a b-bit."
Madison smiled, blushing. "I'm glad. This will be fun. Our twins will be fine."
Clara blushed, "Y-yeah. T-th-they c-can s-su-sur-survive wi-with o-out us f-for a b-bit."
Madison nodded, looking down. "I don't normally think Mason can... He just... I normally take care of him and I'll be away for so long. I'm never gone long."
Clara squeezed Madison's hand, "I-i'm s-sure, he wi-will be f-fine."
Madison bit her lip, shivering a little as she squeezed back. "I hope so. I'm just... I'm so scared. All the time. What if something happens?"
Clara smiled reassuringly, "H-how m-m-much t-tr-trouble can o-one boy g-get i-int-to?"
Madison chuckled, nodding. "Well, he is a boy after all."
Clara smirked, "True."
Madison pulled out her headphones, biting her lip before offering Clara the other pair already attached to the splitter. They were normally Mason's, but she was reminded that he wasn't there. "W-wanna share?"
Clara blushed and nodded slightly, "S-sure."
Madison handed over the headphones, closing her eyes as she picked to shuffle her music.
Clara grabbed the headphones and placed it in her ear. She closed her eyes, fully expecting to fall asleep on the flight, as she always fell asleep while traveling.
Madison tried not to panic, not wanting to worry about Mason. Especially because she was with someone who finally didn't think she was a complete loser. Sure, Jude liked her and he was nice. But, he was too complicated at the moment.
Clara soon fell into a light sleep, whatever was playing through the headphones helping with that. Her head fell to the side, landing on Madison's shoulder as she lightly snored.
Madison blinked, blushing and trying to keep herself calm. It was nice, but it was also a little nerve-wracking. She automatically started to wonder what she could do, picking out the worst that could happen for each option. Eventually, she settled on nervously reaching out and gently petting Clara's hair in an attempt to help comfort her.
Clara nuzzled into the touch in her sleep, it wasn't uncommon for someone, usually Santana, to play with her hair while she slept.
Madison smiled, biting her lip and blushing as she lightly played with Clara's hair.
Clara hummed in her sleep, liking what was happening.
Madison fell asleep, arm dropping to just rest around Clara instead of in her hair.
Clara woke up to a flight attendant telling her to make sure her seat was up. She blushed when she realized Madison's arm was around her, and then turned to wake Madison up.
Madison jumped up a bit, looking around before taking a deep breath. She moved her arm, blushing and looking down. "We should... Comic Con. I just need to call Mason once we're in the lobby."
Clara chuckled at Madison and nodded, "I n-need to c-call S-san too."
Madison took her hand, staring anywhere but Clara as they got off the plane. She kept her hand until they were somewhere less crowded, breaking to call Mason and nervously babble about things that should be taken care of.
Clara liked holding Madison's hand, it felt nice. When Madison broke off to talk to Mason, Clara took out her phone to call Santana, telling her that she arrived safely and that everything was alright and she didn't need to worry.
Madison relaxed as Mason assured her everything was fine, hanging up and finally calming down more. "Clara? Are you ready? Comic Con is waiting!"
Clara finally calmed Santana down, and idally chatted with her until Madison got off the phone. When Madison got off the phone, and asked her if she was ready, Clara told Santana bye and turned to Madison, "Y-yeah, l-let's go."
Madison took her hand again, already starting to feel better when she held Clara's hand. She blushed, getting them a cab and heading toward the convention. Today was only the first day and there was plenty of time to enjoy being there.
Clara smiled, going along with Madison, not wanting to let go of her hand. She followed Madison into the cab excitedly, "T-this is go-going to be s-so m-much f-fun!"
Madison bit her lip, nervously looking up at Clara as she continued to hold her hand. "Clara... I-I... What do you wanna see first?"
Clara looked up at Madison biting her lip, and squeezed her hand. "D-do-doctor W-who."
Madison bounced slightly, giggling. "I was thinking the same thing! But, first we have to get to the hotel."
Clara nodded, "A-alright to t-the ho-hotel!"
Madison paid the driver, pulling Clara into the hotel lobby and getting them checked in. "Come on, Clara! Hurry!" She giggled, rushing up to the room and tossing her cases open to dig.
Clara laughed as she was pulled along by Madison, "I'm h-hurrying!"
Madison found the outfit, handing it to Clara. "I thought you might want to be Clara Oswald. Since your name is Clara... I got the fourth doctor..."
Clara smiled while blushing, "I l-love C-clara" she said, taking the outfit.
Madison grabbed her outfit, gesturing toward the bathroom as she moved. "I'll just... I'll change in there. Knock when you're dressed."
Clara nodded and waited for Madison to go into the bathroom before quickly dressing. She finished and walked over to the bathroom, lightly knocking on the door.
Madison opened the door, giggling and spinning to make the scarf move around her. "We look awesome!"
Clara smiled at Madison's happiness "W-we d-do!"
Madison blushed, spinning around again and tripping. She fell into Clara, gripping her arms to keep from falling. "I-I... Sorry... I just..."
Clara smiled at Madison, "D-don't be." she blushed.
Madison looked down, awkwardly brushing herself off. "W-we... There's a photoshoot for Doctor Who. We should go..."
Clara looked down awkwardly, "Y-yeah, we sh-should."
Madison reached out, taking her hand again.
Clara smiled "T-the D-doctor and h-her co-companion, o-off once m-more."
Madison nodded, blushing nervously as she led Clara out of the room and toward the convention.
Clara smiled, and followed Madison out of the room.
Madison walked across the way, looking around as they got into the convention. "This is... Wow."
Clara agreed, this was amazing.
Madison swung their hands as she got them signed in, tugging Clara along. "Come on, Doctor Who's over there."
Clara grinned as she giggled "C-coming!"
Madison lead her over to the section, helping Clara to pose and giggling. It involved touching Clara, holding her hips and moving her arms. Which was fine in her book.
Clara blushed every time Madison touched her, even if it was innocent. But, she enjoyed every second of it, giggling and smiling the whole time.
Madison knew she'd love Comic Con, but it was better having someone there with her. Especially because it was Clara. She really liked Clara and she seemed to help her calm down without needing Mason.
Clara thought that being with Madison at Comic Con was the best thing ever. Santana would never be caught dead at a place like this and her parents would never let her come by herself, so she was glad she was invited.
Madison still checked her phone, texting Mason every twenty minutes just to keep her routine and not worry. She worried so much about Mason, but Clara was understanding enough. "Wanna see the commercial for the new series of Doctor Who?"
Clara looked up from her phone, going through the numerous texts she had recieved, all from her twin. "H-hells yeah!"
Madison grabbed her hand again, taking her to the back and sitting down. "Come on. We're a little late." She sat down with Clara, watching the trailer for a bit before leaning over to kiss Clara. It made her nervous, since she'd really only kissed Jude and that was so different.
Clara didn't care how late they were, she was just focused on how holding Madison's hands made her feel. She was sat next to Madison, watching the trailer, when she was kissed. She smiled into it and kissed Madison back.
Madison was nervous, worried that she was kissing all wrong. But, Clara was kissing her back and she seemed happy. Her hand squeezed Clara's lightly before releasing to move to her knee.
Clara was happy, as soon as Madison released her hand she moved it to hold her face, keeping her there, kissing her, and hoping it never stopped.
Madison blushed a little as the kiss changed and got more real, slowly pulling away. "I-I... Oh, wow. Th-this trailer is amazing. I'm so excited to see it for real..."
Clara was disappointed when Madison pulled away. "U-usually I-i'm the o-one wi-with th-the st-stutter." she joked, trying to make Madison laugh. "S-same here."
Madison looked down, biting her lip. "Well, I just... I was just..." She tried to relax, focusing on calming down. "It's a nice trailer... Are you excited?"
Clara lifted Madison's face with her finger, "I-it's f-fine." she reassured, "I l-liked it." She watched as Madison tried to calm down, "I am."
Madison nodded, staring up at Clara. "We should go... Did you want to see more time here? We still have a couple days... Or we could go see another part of the convention?"
Clara looked down, "W-we can g-go. I-if th-that's wh-what you w-want."
Madison blushed, nodding and gesturing. "Yeah... We c-can go."
Clara nodded, "O-okay."
Madison stood, crossing her arms over her chest before heading toward the exit.
Clara stood, and stared after Madison, hurt and confused. What happened to the hand holding?
Madison made her way back to their room, hurrying back. She could be a crazy person there, since there weren't as many people to judge her. Madison straightened up the room and her suitcase, eventually sitting on the bed and smoothing the covers. "C-Clara, I'm sorry... I just... I've only ever kissed Judy before and he obviously only likes me as a momma duck. And I'm fine being the momma duck, I'm always the mom and I know that. I just... I don't wanna be sad again if you don't wanna kiss me. But, nobody ever wants me and I understand that. I do. It's not Jude's fault because... You can't help that kinda stuff. I just... I'd rather just not kiss people in the first place. But, I like kissing. I liked when Judy kisses me before I remembered that he actually likes Kurt."
Clara stood and listened patiently through Madison's rant. Once Madison was done ranting, Clara decided to do something bold. She surged foreward, grabbed Madison's face, and kissed her, showing her that she did indeed want to kiss her again.
Madison whimpered, blinking as her eyes widened. She pulled back, blushing and looking down. "I-I... Clara, I just... I like kissing. And you seem nice, I just... What if you don't like me?"
Clara stared at Madison, "I w-wouldn't k-kiss you i-if I d-didn't" she said sincerely.
Madison pouted, looking down. "Judy doesn't like me and he kisses me..."
Clara lifted Madison's head up, "I-i'm not J-judy."
Madison "But, nobody ever likes me. I just kinda feel like I'm better off just taking care of everybody."
Clara "B-but I l-like you."
Madison "You like me now... I'm just worried. I mean, it never lasts."
Clara "You n-never kn-know."
Madison nodded, looking down. "But... You like me? Like, right now?"
Clara nodded, "Ye-yeah."
Madison blushed, biting her lip. "I like you, too."
Clara smiled, "G-good."
Madison leaned in, nervously kissing Clara again.
Clara kissed Madison back, gently holding her face.
Madison wiggled slightly, reaching out and taking Clara's hand as she kissed her. It had been nice the first time.
Clara giggled, pulling out of the kiss, "W-why so wi-wiggly?" she asked, before kissing Madison again.
Madison bit her lip, staring up at her. "I just... I've only ever kissed Judy before."
Clara smiled at her, "W-well now y-you've k-kissed m-me."
Madison nodded, giggling quietly. "I have... Which was really nice. I mean, I haven't been as worried about Mason..."
Clara smiled, "G-good. I-i'm sure h-he can t-take c-care of h-hims-self."
Madison pulled back, looking confused. "I-I... No, he can't. I need to take care of him."
Clara tilted her head in confusion, "Why?"
Madison looked down, shrugging. "I've always taken care of Mason. He needs me. I make sure he eats and gets to bed, everything."
Clara "B-but, d-doesn't he c-complain?"
Madison shook her head, looking confused. "No... Of course not. I take care of things."
Clara "Why though?"
Madison pouted, crossing her arms. "It's just what I've done since we were really young. I'd make sure we had what we needed because our parents were always busy."
Clara nodded, "Ohhh." she said. "i-i'm s-sorry." she said, looking down, upset.
Madison shook her head, looking up at Clara and sighing. "It's alright... I just got used to it."
Clara pouted, "I-it's sad though."
Madison "I like taking care of Mason... I love him. I mean, he's my brother and someone needed to take care of him."
Clara "H-have you t-tried le-letting him take c-care of h-hims-self?"
Madison shook her head. "No. Why would I? What if something happens and he gets hurt? I can't let anything happen to Mason..."
Clara chuckled quietly, Santana used to act the same way. "S-san used t-to be that w-way."
Madison looked down, nodding. "I just... I can't let anything hurt him. I was worried about even coming here, but he insisted that I go. He wanted me to have fun."
Clara sat down next to Madison and grabbed her face and made her look at her, "A-are you g-going to be w-with him f-for the rest of his l-life, or yours?"
Madison paused, biting her lip. "Both... I'm kinda hoping we go at the same time. I wouldn't know what to do without him."
Clara smiled, "N-not what I m-meant. Are y-you go-going to c-coddle him for the r-rest of your l-lives?"
Madison nodded, still looking confused. "Yes, someone needs to take care of Mason."
Clara "Mason c-can take c-care of Mason."
Madison shook her head. "But, what if he gets hurt?"
Clara "Y-you n-need to let h-him l-lear on his own."
Madison "But, he'll get hurt. And I might lose him."
Clara: "T-that's the ri-risk e-everyone goes th-through."
Madison nodded, chewing at her lip a bit. "But, I don't want the risk... I don't like thinking about not having Mason."
Clara grabbed Madison's hand, "N-nobody does. I-i feel the s-same way about S-sanny."
Because it’s a complete waste of time, Judy. Nobody NEEDS to go to a spa. It’s a luxury and it’s more time away from Mason, time he can use to get hurt.
