Dear Jake, 🎼Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you~ You look like a monkey 🐒 and smell like one too.🎵 (and if you’re going to keep sitting on me, lose a few pounds, will ya?) I didn’t get a gift for you today, BUT, all the leftovers you’ve gobbled up from my bowl throughout the year have been daily gifts, like 365 of them. Also, I’ve been very generous in sharing my Mama and Daddy with you for over 3 years now. Sometimes when I see Mama kissing or Daddy hugging you, I do get a bit jealous. But I also know that I can just push my nose in between you guys and get in on the fun, and somehow we all end up in a group kiss/hug fest and our happiness multiplies, so you becoming a part of our family has been a gift for us all. My sweet Jake Jake, Happy 6th Birthday! Just the thought of you devouring the NY steak I picked up for you today makes me grin ear to ear. Do you know why you deserve the steak and more? Because you’re the most amazingly lovable boy ever. You look at me with those big brown eyes. You try to sit on my lap. You gently push your head into me for hugs. You make my heart swell and happy hormones explode. Who taught you to be this loving? You always wait for me when I am finishing up in the kitchen before we retire for the night.... no matter how tired you are, you’ll always walk into the bedroom with me. Who taught you to be so kind and considerate? You were ever so gentle in greeting Daddy home after he got discharged from the hospital after his heart attack. Who taught you to be such a good nurse? Thank you for being in my life, in our lives, and allowing me to share the joy you give me with the rest of the world.
