LSD and Antidepressants
Or, more specifically
Lexapro.
Let me start with a recent occurrence.
So, there was some pretty decent blotter, and several of us had excellent experiences. But one person, it never hit for them. . . I was perplexed, and felt for them... So I, the day after, began turning stones to find the "why" out in this situation.
This is all theoretical I don't know of any studies of the inhibiting of LSD efficacy. But. Here's my spill.
I know that LSD mimics serotonin in molecular structure, or they're very similar. I know that LSD and serotonin both interact with the same receptor, 5-HT2B. And effectively, this Interaction is necessary to produce the desired effects of LSD in recreational use.
Now about lexapro. It's purpose is to raise serotonin levels in the brain. By class it is an SSRI, Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor. . . So, if it's blocking the reuptake of serotonin, could it be blocking the uptake of LSD, could the traffic of serotonin have been too high to allow for LSD traffic?
Reblog, give me some feedback. Experiences, arguments, ideas.
