I absolutely hate it when slash fics feel like they gotta tear down the character’s previous relationship with a girl in some way. Like it doesn’t matter if they were canonically having some truly fantastic sex just a few episodes ago, dude’s gonna hook up in the fic with another dude and it’ll be all “it was never this good with HER” or some shit about how it feels more ~right~ somehow.

It’s vaguely biphobic, misogynistic, and invalidates what were often perfectly healthy relationships with women while subconsciously perpetuating the idea that you can’t love more than one person in your lifetime. That girl you were absolutely in love with a few months ago? Yeah that was nice but THIS love with your new boyfriend is obviously SO MUCH MORE REAL.

Why is this necessary? Why can’t you just respect these relationships and the female characters who were an important part of this male character’s life? As a writer, you’re in control of the world you’re building, so they literally pose no threat to you. Grow up.

So I’ve been thinking, while I’m not buying midnight sun, I know a lot of people still are. For the past few months, a lot of people have justified this choice by saying they will donate to support the Quileute Tribe’s Move To Higher Ground by donating the cost of the book when the book comes out. That day has arrived, and I would like to incentivize people to follow though.

I’m one person, and frankly I can only afford so much. I’ve made a donation already, but I’d like to make another one. So, for everyone that donates at least 5 dollars and shows me proof in the next approximate 48 hours, I’ll donate another dollar, with a cap at $100. I’m only accepting things dated Aug 4 and later since the goal is to get NEW donations coming in. If 100 more people donate, that’s 100 more dollars.

It’s not much, it’s no celebrity matching dollar per dollar, but it’s what I can afford. If you were thinking about donating before, it’s time to follow though!

And I think it would have been incredibly powerful if in New Moon, the whole pack had kept their hair long and normal up until Harry Clearwater died, and then the next time Bella saw them all their hair was short and Jacob briefly explained that they cut it to respect Harry.

Idk I just feel like that would’ve been a lot better than them just cutting their hair once they shift.
