Been giving au commissions a lot of thought for a while now. I used to be hesitant about taking them because to me it was like, am I relying on the whim of others to draw something for this blog?
I guess I’ve changed my perspective on the matter, since I’m not really forcing anyone to commission these characters. (And I’m very flattered when anyone does)
I’m not going to turn the blog into an ‘update via commission only’ type of thing but having more to post can’t hurt right?

What exactly does celestia do in this au? Is she dead , is she metal , ive always wanted to know , about both the royal sisters , but I feel like I should ask now
At some point there will be an update on the princesses. There’s no way I would end off the blog without having done that at the very least.
Does it look like you will return at some point? How long it will take is irrelevant. Knowing whether to keep waiting for something great would be nice.
Truth is, I honestly don’t know if I’ll continue this blog, at least not from where I’m seeing it right now.
I feel awful saying this after all the times I’ve said that I would keep it going or that I had things planned (which wasn’t false I just never got it to a workable phase) and even worse for keeping everyone waiting this long to hear something, and the guilt is honestly getting to be kind of unbearable.
I appreciate everyone who has ever sent messages and shown interest, cause that was the only thing that made me want to do all this to begin with.
I don’t want to declare anything over and done with, but I also don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up.

Con flu really clogs with your sense of time
Well anyway now that I’m less sniffly I wanted to share some Ultimare Universe related happening from the convention, namely this lovely artwork of Sparkling Cider from the awesome CaptainPudgeMuffin
Funny story, I had stepped out from the booth to walk around for a bit and when I got back GlacierClear handed this to me and said someone just stopped by to drop it off. I recognized the style, and I was a little sad he didn’t stick around for me to properly thank them for it so I was gonna tryin’ keep my eyes peeled for the guy. Then the same thing proceeded to happen three times where this guy would come by and drop off gift art for Glacier, Atryl and StrangerDanger and then just peace outta there before I could see him. I finally saw him on the last day but man this guy, freaking stealthing all this gift art to us without a trace haha. Thanks again Cap!
Second picture is a commission I did for my man @siquinox. This guy here was the first dude to ever commission me at a convention and every year has stopped by to get a drawing. So of course when he asked to get a pic of Spyke being all bad ass I was like “Hellllll yeah man.” It was a real pleasure man glad I could draw something for you again this year.
And finally to everyone who stopped by the booth to pick up an Ultimare Universe poster and say hi and share kind words, I am extremely grateful and thank you all so much! ^^

While the blog is still currently on hiatus, I did get some AU related commissions recently.
I’m honestly thrilled that people want commissions of these characters, and seemingly often to boot, so it makes me wonder if setting up an AU patreon in the future might be a viable option? We’ll have to see.
On hiatus
Sorry if this isn’t what you were expecting.
For a while now I thought I could juggle this blog with everything else in my life but it’s becoming quickly apparent this month that I simply cannot.
There are too many things that I absolutely need to focus on preparing for, as well as making money to pay for said things.
I don’t know when I’ll be able continue with this blog but I do know that I don’t want to just leave it dragging on with no updates for weeks at a time while nothing is being said on the matter.
I hate to disappoint but I’m kind of at my wit’s end here.
At some point when things have calmed down I’ll regroup and rethink how I approach this blog.
Till then, thanks for understanding.

Okay so, having gone over all the messages there seem to be quite a few themes in questions which I’ll sum up here now:
“The princesses?”: Will definitely happen.
“What is Gild/Trixie/Vinyl/Octavia/Diamond Tiara/Silver Spoons/Braeburn/Soarin/Zecora/etc like in this universe?”: I understand everyone has a character they would like to see, and I will try my best to get to as many as I can.
“What about ‘insert villain here’?”: We’ll uh, need to see. I have a definite plan for two so far, but the rest are honestly still up in the air.
“How did the main six meet?”: Will likely happen a little later on down the road, probably after I’ve done the princesses.
How did Ivory and Cider get together?”: Will definitely happen, I’ve actually been writing that one out as of late.
“Origin story?”: Will also likely happen, at what point I’m not 100% sure.
“So when is that crossover between this universe and the canon universe gonna happen?”: I... really wish I could give a definite answer to this one, as it always feels like there are things I need to establish in this world first before I try to do that. Argh.
And finally to all the people who have ever sent a compliment or message of encouragement that I for what ever reason never responded back to because I am a horrible person: THANK YOU SO MUCH T^T

So, i kind of pictured Cottontail having a voice more like Pinkie's, and vice versa. What did you picture for their voices out of curiosity? Is that kinda accurate?
Since they are voiced by the same person wouldn’t it be amusing if they simply swapped voices hoho. But yeah for me I just picture Fluttershy after Dash did the sonic rainboom and pinkamena’s more somber voice and that’s pretty much the voices I hear.
A thought occurred... Since AJ (Sparkling Cider) and her family are the Manehatten branch of the apple family in this AU; would that make her Aunt and Uncle Orange, and even Babs Seed the country relatives out in ponyville? Seeing as they would have simply swapped places.

Hopefully Sparkling Cider makes time to visit them often enough, especially since her little sister seems to be pretty good friends with their cousin Tangerine.
1. What exactly does the monster defence force that Nova is with do? 2. How does Nova deals with the monsters in question? Does she have special type of magic she practices for these kind of encounters like a bowgunman from monster hunter has special bullets? 3. Does Nova train under mysterious rhyming zebra that won't stop calling her "Silly Philly"? (Okay that last part is just me but couldn't resist, loving Stardust Nova too much not to add stuff).
