Departure Delayed | Fumio | Sacred Days | Prologue | Daiki
shsl-housemaid:
“O- Of course, yes! We’re all still classmates… a- at our supposed school…” Daiki smiled nervously before nodding. It was hard to hold a genuine smile about something like this. She had to give respect to Fumio who was able to give a smile so casually and calmly. She would have preferred any sort of setting over something like this though! Randomly waking up at an amusement part would’ve been miles better, because that would’ve at least been still functioning!
Daiki’s eyes began to wander over to the other characters that she had either yet to meet or spoke to for only a brief amount of time. The variety of characters around her and Fumio were an interesting cast. It was hard to believe that she was seen as talented and skilled as the rest of them. Intimidating, even.
Their conversation went right back to regular speed as Fumio suggested to actually explore the area with her. Daiki blinked at him, registering his words before her eyes widened. There was a soft sparkle in her eyes… then she smiled and nodded at him, this time a little more genuine than before!
“A stellar idea, Ichikawa-sama! I- If the buildings are useful, we can both come back here and report our findings to the rest. There must be, uhm, something there that could help all of us.”
Perhaps a small chance of a phone even? Maybe other people? It couldn’t be that hard. Daiki barely even registered how formal she was still acting towards Fumio, with her bowing and added prefix. She could only feel so comfortable as long as maintained this behavior. Straightening up, Daiki turned around towards the unknown and looked over to Fumio with a hopeful smile. Things were beginning to look up now, she thought to herself!
Were they still technically considered ‘classmates’ if they hadn’t actually attended class together yet? They were supposed to pretty soonish, but the exact technicalities of the nomenclature escaped him. It probably didn’t matter.
He was smiling out of more an excess of nervous energy than anything else. It was similar to the feeling of having a camera pointed at him, only made a thousand and a half times worse by the presence of an axe as tall as he was creature large enough to wield it, and the ‘this is Ablisse’ thing, and the whole thing with having absolutely no idea what was going on. Even if this wasn’t a problem that would just blow over in a few minute, a smile couldn’t hurt, right?
Oh. She was looking at him now. Did that mean he was supposed to pick where they were going? He’d assumed she’s already had one of the buildings in mind, but…
“Let’s go to… that one?” He said, picking a building at random (the baths) and pointing in its general direction. “Seems as good a place as any to start.”
Though he didn’t seem overly eager to lead the way, he quickly started walking towards the large building. It was farther away from the minotaur, and that was what really mattered right now. However… he couldn’t say he wasn’t at least curious to find out whether the building held their salvation, more piles of rubble, or something else entirely.
It wasn’t too long of a walk, but he attempted to make conversation along the way.
“So you’re a – a housemaid, you said? I did a lot of the cleaning back at home, but wow – that must take a lot of effort. And to get recognized for doing it, too, that’s just…” Words escaped him. “…cool.” Smooth.
