Twenty-two years after the Crownless Game, the Victors of the Hunger Games remain in Victor's Village, a small gated community outside of the Capitol, waiting for the right time to use their influence to free their people of oppression. As the Mockingjay symbol rises from the ashes after years of dormancy, the Victors begin to see the possibilities on the horizon. On the flipside, however, the Capitol is doing whatever it can to bury the Mockingjay in the past where it belonged. Except it isn't without its own consequences. Sometimes attempting to extinguish the fire results in making it burn brighter.

His games were not easy because they took place in an abandoned city. There were no bodies of water he could use in his advantage. The only place where one could find water was abandoned parks or certain houses that still had running water; however, one had to think really well were to go because the mutts roamed through the city. The cornucopia was situated on top of a skyscraper and there was the proper equipment to ascend.
Unfortunately for some tributes the ropes were impossible to cut; so, it was impossible to get an easy kill there. In addition, it was a long way to ascend the cornucopia. Many tributes decided to improvise weapons with what they found around the city; others died because they fell. It was one of those rare occasions in the hunger games were the blood bath was not as big as other years because very few tributes managed to get to the top like Poseidon did; he was stronger and more agile than many people assumed.
The tributes that decided to take the safest route and stayed on ground found out there were tracker jackers dotted around the arena. The game makers made this to make tributes find each other and fight. For those who decided hiding inside, they found out most of the buildings were plagued by genetically modified spiders which poison dissolved your skin and inside in matter of hours. Things were not safe at night either; rabid dogs were released to kill whoever was on the ground.
Although it seemed the safest place was on the roofs, the game makers managed to make the tributes move by collapsing the buildings. There were some who were not smart enough or fast enough to read the signs before the buildings went down. Hank was fast and strong, that’s why he could move through the buildings with relatively ease. He stayed hidden and only attacked when necessary, but naturally he was forced by the game makers to fight when the boy from one and him were the last ones. The game makers took them to a small platform that was on top of a building so they could fight. At first sight, it seemed Hank had the lower hand because of his size even though they had the same weapon, a combat knife.
The kid from one tried to stab him several times; he managed to slice his skin. Hank did the same, but his attack was a little more successful because he managed to cut two fingers from the other guy. The tribute from one got blinded by rage, so he tried to tackle him to make him fall. Fortunately, Hank was faster, and he managed to avoid the attack. It was just matter of minutes until he ended the other boy’s life by stabbing his skull.
BIOGRAPHY:
Hank was an orphan born in district 10 who never knew his parents. When others were adopted, he was often skipped. It was rare that kids from the orphanage were adopted though.. As the time passed, Hank became more resentful with the world. The boy was on his own in a place where beatings, neglect and boredom were the norm. Hank didn’t know other way than his fists because he was never taught. He was put in charge of kids and he treated them just the way they treated them. If they didn’t listen to him, there would be blood. Little by little, he learned to survive in a world where the law of the fittest and the strongest ruled.
The lack of resources there forced him to become resourceful. There were many mouths to feed. He had to become responsible of lives before he even got facial hair. Things changed when he was sent to school. It was only the love of a teacher who helped him to soften the boy. Little by little, she showed kindness and affection to him. She helped the boy to channel his emotions through singing. He found out he had a natural talent for it. Through the years, he perfected his talent until he became quite an attraction to whoever him that hear his beautiful voice.
When he was reaped for the games, nobody saw a lot of future for him. The boy preferred staying quiet because he knew if he opened his mouth, he would screw everything. He had learned the best way in life was to go unnoticed. It was not only until his mentor heard him singing, she got the idea of using his fantastic talent as his presentation card. If there was something the capitol love more than the poor orphan story, that was a victor who had a talent. She sold several recordings with his voice. There were many potential buyers who taught it would cost even more once he was dead. Unfortunately, it never happened. He survived.
The key to his survival was simple: he understood group dynamics. He understood that alliances were a dangerous game where he had the lowest hand. He didn’t have skills to join the careers, and he was probably considered too bossy and moody to join others. So, he preferred use evasive tactics. He usually tried to keep himself hiding and using traps to keep other tributes away from him. Yet, after a while, the game makers messed with his strategy. They used their controlled over the arena to mess with his traps. It didn’t take him long for him to understand the message, it was time to become the hunter. He started spying on others and looking for the perfect chance to strike. He mislead other tributes to make them think others committed those kills.
His victory was the worst public relationship PR area because there were no relatives or friends to interview. So, they did the best they could with what they had. They portrayed him as the next rising entertainment star for the Capitol. They immediately assigned him tutors in singing, dancing and acting. Hank exuded talent from every pore of his skin. So, whenever he stood in stage and act, people fall in love of him.
His talent made him get several thousand of admirers all over Panem. That included the love of a lady from his the capitol. He had a fling with her. Together, they had a son, Jack. Unfortunately, his the woman didn’t survive. Hank became a young father with no idea how to raise a child. That of course, led to several problems. Hank was blackmailed from the Capitol. He was forced to work much harder. The lingering treat of having his son being picked as a tribute made him obey the Capitol. They wanted more shows, more complex dance numbers, much higher notes. That made him resource to pills and alcohol. The only thing that kept him sane was his boy. Unfortunately, the kid resented him because he made him focus on his studies. He didn’t want him to be a drunk like he was. He wanted his kid to be someone in life. That’s why he encouraged him to be a physician. There are times Hank thinks Jack hated him because of that, but he wanted his son to have a better life away from the Capitol’s hands. His kid is the only person that keeps him sane.
It’s the holiday season in Panem! With winter settling in Panem, it brings in the holidays with the cold and snow. Much like Halloween, The Capitol has gone all out in its decorations around the city and Village and spreading the holiday cheer. Citizens mostly celebrate Christmas much like in the old world, putting up festive decorations and exchanging gifts with friends and family. Of course, different Districts celebrate in their own ways when they can. And if they can afford to.
How do the Victors and their families celebrate the holidays? Do they exchange gifts and decorate their homes too? Or do they have other traditions from home or within their own families? It’s entirely up to you how they celebrate the holidays!
Much like the Halloween event, this is not a plot heavy event! Starters can correlate with the holiday event, otherwise, threads can be continued or started within the winter season. This is just a fun, festive “event” for the players to have their characters take part in for the holidays coming up, if they would like. Current threads may still continue through this “event”, but the fall and Halloween event threads should be wrapping up soon.

We won’t actually play out the Hunger Games. At the beginning of the Season Change of Summer, we will open the next year’s Victor to be posted for applications. At that time, it will be a first come, first serve basis on who gets the slot as they apply for it. So, as it stands now, the 97th Hunger Games Victor slot will open sometime around January 4th through the 11th and each Victor year after that will open every four months as the in-character year cycles.

ARENA:
A complicated system of underground sewers and subways and tunnels, Margot’s arena was entirely underground. The Cornucopia was in the middle of the complex web, a large atrium where the tunnels emptied mysterious green sludge and the monstrosities they called mutts: oversized rats with poison bites, electronic flies that sucked blood. As a Career, Margot was mostly spared from crawling through the narrowest of the tunnels, opting to stay close to the Cornucopia until it was necessary to begin “hunting.” The lack of hiding places made for a relatively short games, leading to a week and a half of chases through the tunnels after an errant noise was heard echoing down the narrow passageways.
Margot Novak entered into the arena with her boyfriend, Carian Vox, though the two of them decided against playing up the “star-crossed-lovers” angle and only revealed an emotional connection to each other once in the arena itself. While in the arena, Margot gained her reputation for being strange in a slightly off-putting way: many watchers commented that the detached and calm way she watched the arena was one of the more memorable parts of the games.
And what she watched? Her boyfriend going completely and totally savage. Inspired by the crownless games that happened when they were too young to remember it, Carion wanted to show what the natural conclusion of the Career’s was: unprecedented blood and gore.
Long before the 91st arena, he roped in Margot, whose ambitions had turned from winning the games to doing whatever Carian wanted. She would drop anything, do anything, spend any money, be any person if she knew it would make Carian smile. So, when he was sixteen and he was eighteen, they volunteered in tandem. Prior to the games, they seemed run-of-the-mill Career tributes, intense and tough but ultimately forgettable, forgettable, forgettable. Until. The bloodbath wasn’t overly fatal, ten deaths in total, but what Carian did before the Capitol could bring up their bodies was unspeakable. He went savage. Think tearing flesh, think cracking bones. Blood gets in your mouth.
The Capitol liked their blood sports, but they considered themselves civilized: subjecting the entire country to unnecessary mutilation did not go over well with the gamemakers. The Career pack broke up and Margot and Carian received no more support from sponsors, which was a delight to Carian, since this meant it was working: he was disturbing the country. Maybe next they would t h i n k.
Margot had a total of five kills in the games, nothing to scoff at, but she kept the theatrics to Carian. She would be a silent, detached watcher as he shocked the country. Blue eyes looking but not watching. Sometimes, the blood would splatter, stain her pale smooth skin.
Of course, they killed him. They had to kill him. They weren’t going to have a psychopath for a victor. But he had Margot looking out for him, Margot as his good luck charm, he said. She pulled him out of the way of falling pipes, killed mutts that seemed to lust after his blood and only his blood. But the gamemakers decide what becomes of the games, and luck doesn’t last forever. It ended with her, Carian, and a pair of allies from the outer districts. They were going to let them win. She and Carian didn’t want to win, that wasn’t the point. They had made their point. They were going to let them win. But they killed Carian first, and the girl laughed when she did it. She was so relieved, she killed him with a smile on her face, and something inside Margot S N A P P E D.
The plan was to not fight either of them, the plan was to stand defiant and proud, but instead Margot tackled the girl bodily and slit her throat quickly, kicking her aside and then going for the boy, even while her mind told her to stop, to let him live. She didn’t do that. A knife through the boy’s eye, throat and chest, fifteen, twenty, thirty times. It was to be the icon of his games, Margot not stopping when the cannon went off, or when they started playing the song, or when the Gamemaker’s voice sounded over the empty arena. Margot Novak didn’t stop fighting.
Until she did.

Margot’s father, Abraham, had a simple enough job. He was a Peacekeeper, had always been a Peacekeeper, and was very good at his job. He rose through the ranks, and pretty soon his reputation precedes him. That reputation, among those who knew him, was not unlike a hammer. When a district stepped out of line–low productivity rates, ripplings of uprising, low morale–he would take over as the head Peacekeeper for a short stint, remind the citizens of the district how good they had it. Cue the public whippings, the crackdowns on black markets, complete lockdown of the district. He was known for his cruelty. His youngest daughter Margot didn’t view him as cruel, though. More of a challenge. As with everything else he was and did in life, Margot’s father was withholding, strict, uncompassionate, and unclear about expectations or instructions. That had just pushed her to impress him. A warmer man wouldn’t have asked anything of her. Abraham asked the world, and Margot was determined to meet it with the sort of intensity found only in little girls. Small and wispy stature be damned, Margot threw herself into the rigorous training of the career academy, not letting anything distract her from her ultimate goal, no,d e s t i n y , of joining District Two’s storied victors.
Well, almost anything.
Carian Vox was two years her senior, with dark curls framing his face and cow eyes so sweet and sincere that had the unfortunate habit of making Margot feel like she was melting. It wasn’t the eyes she fell in love with, though. It was the head behind them. Carian Vox was one of the top recruits at the Academy, but he didn’t idolize the old Victors like everybody else. He didn’t want to bring glory to his District, or win riches for himself. He wanted to make a point. His heroes were secret, a hidden sign he held in his heart, the three-note song of the Mockingjay. Despite the overwhelming pressure building up around the country that sometimes seemed centered in Two, Carian believed in Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. He was revolutionary-minded, smart and ambitious, with a big heart that yearned for justice, for freedom.
He was also a bit insane.

Margot fell in love with his philosophies, his ideas, his dreams. She tied her’s to his. Carian’s dream was this: The Crownless Games showed Panem the cruelty of what happened to the tributes from the Outer Districts, who never even have a chance at anything: not love, not hope, not life. It took the Capitol’s methods to their natural conclusion. And that he did, dying in the arena for his display for gruesomeness. Margot had planned on dying with him, that was the plan that didn’t happen, and Margot found herself a Victor, alive when she hadn’t exactly meant to be.
It seems that Margot left her fight in the arena, at least where the Capitol’s concerned. Immediately following the games, she was questioned by the Gamemakers on what, exactly, was the point of all the violence: had she and Carian simply gone mad? Were the bloodthirsty monsters created by the training academies, or was there something else? Whatever the cause, they made it clear in no uncertain terms that any subversion of the Capitol’s will would not end well for her.
Margot’s not an idiot, and she hasn’t gone insane, despite what some reports may claim. She’s weighed her options. She’s realized how good she has it. Carian talked of rampant poverty, of murdered children, of corruption, but none of that applied to Margot, not anymore. She lived in a big, beautiful house in the Capitol. She was waited on by avoxes, she never had to worry about money, about work, about anything. Sure, sometimes she had to “entertain” the occasional visitor, but that’s a small and managable torture. A revolution would be worse, and wouldn’t work–God knows Carian’s didn’t. It didn’t change anything at all. She’s chalked up that belief to the blind optimism of youth–her love for Carian was real, the only real thing she’s ever felt, but the dream is dead.
And with Carian dead, she feels like half of her soul has been ripped out at the seams, and she’s unmoored, unsure of her place in this strange new world where she is alive and he is not. She feels amputated and hemophilic, a wound that won’t stop bleeding, will never heal.
And the Capitol has taken advantage of her passivity. They’ve turned her into a tool, a small weapon of war. After the arena, Margot just wanted to be protected, wanted to continue unbothered by change, after the first sixteen years of her life had been marked by it. They offered her protection, for a price: among the other activities expected of Victors, she has also become something of a little bird for the Capitol: nothing serious, nothing dangerous. But she’s surrounded by Victors, she’s one of them. They trust her, as much as any Victor can trust. So, when something seems off–a rogue comment or complaint, strange behavior–she lets the Capitol know.
Maybe it made a traitor to her people. A coward. But it also made her safe.
Winter has arrived in Panem. The colder months are definitely felt even in The Capitol with fresh snow falling toward the middle of November. But the Capitol citizens and Victors in the Village are not living in discomfort, especially with the holiday season creeping up! The end of November brings more festive decorations around The Capitol and the Village gates to bring in the holiday cheer. Since the explosion back in the fall, rebel activity has gone quiet and Peacekeeper activity has calmed down after the fallout. It seems like things are gradually returning to normal in The Capitol.

Acceptances take place once all of the admins have reviewed the app submitted. We don’t have a set day for acceptances, but once the admins have read over an app and feel like it fits for the group and the plot, we post an acceptance.
Hello! I looked at the schedule and the next Hunger Games is scheduled for December 14th! That is so soon! I was under the impression that there would be more focus on relationships in this roleplay. There is not a lot of time to develop some of these relationships if there is lots of time skips. Would it be possible to have a longer period between Games?
After some discussions with the group and among the admins, we are working on the schedule to accommodate for more plots between characters. Our plan is to have 1 in game season take place over the span of 1 out of character month. So 4 ooc months will be 1 ic year. And events won’t take place as frequently. We don’t want things to get stale in the group plotwise, but we also want plots to develop between characters as well. We will see how this pans out and if further adjustments need to be made, we will gather more input among the group. So the 97th Games will be held toward the end of January going into February. Any further questions and concerns can be sent through the main or messaged to any of the admins.
The arena for the 94th annual Hunger Games resembled a hotel with a spa - a luxury not many tributes had heard of, let alone seen. The outfit the tributes wore were simply bath robes, luxurious and warm enough, but hardly protective. The reception, the Cornucopia, didn’t take many victims that year - lifts took away those unwilling to participate in the bloodbath, leaving only a bloodthirsty few. Among them was Andromeda, having formed a pact with the other Career tributes, naturally. Her hands remained clean, though - her District partner having no issue doing the dirty work for her as they claimed the resources the reception offered.
Tributes quickly started dying off, though. The Careers hunted from floor to floor in the hotel, easily taking out at least half of their competition. And yet, there wasn’t as much as dirt under Andie’s fingernails. She was there to be admired, not have her beauty tarnished. Her arrogance made up for her lack of physical effort easily, she found, as she slowly but surely set up her Career allies against each other. The boys were easily charmed, the girls easily made jealous.
As it came down to four Careers -including Andie- and three other tributes, tensions boiled over. It was day five. The spa, previously inaccessible, opened its doors to the remaining tributes, and with that came a room filled with CCTV footage from the past days. Andie’s manipulation came to light, and the Careers turned on her. The only other remaining girl got to her first - Andie’s first kill. The other girl ended up stabbed through the stomach, sliced open by a panicked Andromeda. She was traumatized, covered in blood -she wasn’t sure if it was hers or the other girl’s-, on the verge of breaking down and giving up. Her first real taste of the Games wasn’t all she’d hyped it up to be, and she knew she was in for more soon - there was a storm brewing, a finale coming.
Andromeda rinsed herself off in the showers, finding a tiny twelve year old hiding in one of the shower stalls. The water hid her tears as she strangled the boy to death, her actions almost automatic, a shell shocked response, years of training paying off in the worst way. Then, it was just her and the District Two boy left - the other tributes having been taken care of by him and the other Career he’d fought and drowned afterwards. Her Career ally locked Andie in the sauna before she even knew it’d happened. She’d been trying to avoid him, to hide, like that would somehow save her. He just cranked up the heat while she sweated and cried. He wanted to see her in pain after the lies she told him in their time as more than allies. After finding out that he wasn’t the only one she’d claimed to be in love with, had claimed to be her first. She begged him for a last kiss, a last resort - he opened the door. He didn’t let her out, though. He’d grown tired of her cries. He pushed her into the hot stones, leaving burns all over her body, her face. He wasn’t in for a quick kill, he wanted her to suffer. Andromeda grabbed one of the hot stones as a response, barely able to focus through the pain, and bashed her ally’s head in while he was too distracted trying to ruin as much of her as possible. She was crowned Victor after a full four minutes of her former ally bleeding out, and she was never the same. Not physically, not mentally.
BIOGRAPHY:
Andromeda Glass was known as the girl that always played games - and naturally, played them to win. Boys were wrapped around her finger, girls competing to be in her shadow. It was a role that suited her, despite her rather average background, she was a charismatic character. From a young age, she was set up against her twin brother - them being the only children of a diamond miner and his wife. She was taught to skirt around the edges of the rules, to be better in unexpected ways. Her twin brother was older, taller, some would say smarter, stronger. But Andromeda had grace and fluttering eyelashes on her side, and she’d be damned if she didn’t play to the strengths her brother didn’t have. It was the only thing that made her different, even being compared to her brother constantly couldn’t hide that. It was the thing that made her better.
Both of them went to the Academy - he excelled, she averaged. And boy, did that get under her skin. Sure, she had a group of friends that her brother didn’t, she had boyfriends that were higher on the scoreboard than her brother could ever be. But it wasn’t the same - Andromeda hadn’t beaten him, truly, she was only better by association. The feeling chipped away at her every day of training, every time she tried to pick a specialism and failed. She wasn’t a good Career, she was never going to be. Her brother was, though. There had been talks about how he’d volunteer once he turned eighteen, how he’d make his parents proud and come home a Victor. Andie was going to be a nice wife someday, but nothing special, nothing like her brother, not a Career and not a Victor. Her friends, her hard work twisting everyone to her side, it didn’t matter in the long run. Her brother was always going to be better, his talents recognized more easily.
So naturally, she volunteered early. It was the year of the 94th Hunger Games, her brother not due to volunteer for another couple years. It was so unexpected - the actual Career she’d stolen the place from seemed flabbergasted, unable to even protest the development. Andromeda had only one thing on her mind - beating her brother to the crown. And she did.
She came home a Victor, looking nothing like her former self. Her friends that had seen her actions either celebrated her as someone she wasn’t and had no interest in being, or avoided her all together. Her parents cherished her, but Andie knew there was a reason her father refused to touch her scarred face. Her brother was forbidden from entering the Games after her - her mother couldn’t bear another round. Her brother resented her, as Andie resented him for being her reason to compete in the first place.
In return for playing the perfect Victor, a triumphant Career growing into confidence and public eye, Andromeda was given cosmetic surgery the year after her Games. Her face was fixed, the rest of her body resembling the old her slightly more. But nothing about her was the same, really. She’d seen how people treated her when she didn’t have her pretty face, she wasn’t in control in the same way she’d been before. She needed attention, validation. A reminder that she was beautiful and still possessed the charm that had almost gotten her killed. It was the only thing that would save her, bring back the old her, give her some comfort and familiarity.
She sought that comfort at many parties, social events, beds, bars. Andromeda hated being alone, yet didn’t trust her company. Insomnia and tea were her best friends, ‘sleeping’ with one eye open after every guy she’d slept with. And eventually, her attention craving ways caught up with her, just like her little games caught up with her in the Arena. Andromeda’s recently found out she’s pregnant. She knows who the father is, of course, but she doesn’t trust him, nor anyone else. Only her brother knows. And Andie’s panicked; she can see her body changing in ways plastic surgery won’t hide, she knows the physical transformation will leave her as unwanted as her first 'transformation’ did. And yet, she’s fiercely determined and protective. She’s without guidance, seeming just too confident to need it, and she’s utterly and completely lost.
Opposite of your average, run-of-the-mill adrenaline inducing arena, Mercury’s stage was at first glance heavenly. The sky bled in watercolor, there was miles of sweet green grass, and water was plentiful. The beginning of this Game was rather peaceful — more so out of confusion than genuine harmony — until a bloodbath began out of rising paranoia, though even after the rest of the tributes had scattered and made their way to other parts of the arena, they appeared content from the scenery and subliminal messages that would echo out for each of them. It was especially geared more toward the Districts themselves, who had to watch the tributes act as brainless puppets rather than savage avengers. But of course, there was always a catch. When each tribute was at their most vulnerable, a threat would arise and either strike them down violently, or lead them to the other, unconvinced tributes, being driven crazy by the innocent veneer surrounding them. Alternate reality checks included the rotten taste of food that appeared delectable, the specially engineered quicksand on the riverbanks designed to pull you under completely, and the absorbent grass that would transport any dead tributes’ blood into the water.
BIOGRAPHY:
The middle child of three, Merc was often cast aside to benefit his siblings’ wants and desires. He lacked the ambition, motivation, and personality that the rest of the Graves clan inherited from centuries of hard work and determination. But Merc noticed the wealth in his District early on, didn’t buy into the work ‘til you die scheme his parents played into. They weren’t the richest, not even close, but they never worried about starving, or going without anything. So he was lenient on most everything, at least in what they thought counted. Only focused on his silly folk songs that went nowhere but into the ears of bored neighborhood children. Music was as useful as diamonds or glitter to his family. Discarded as a deadbeat for a handful of years, halfheartedly encouraging him to put in work at the solar power planet, his family was close to conceding their efforts until the Reaping for the 82nd Hunger Games arrived. He didn’t think twice about the event — before he was forced into volunteering. He severely underestimated his family, who voted unanimously to give him an ultimatum of either moving out or participating in the Games to prove his worth.
It was cruel and unnecessary punishment, for a moment. He began to shed his cowardly layers, striving to make a point as he put on a disguise of eagerness, took another 16-year-old boy’s place, and looked upon his District with a face-splitting grin. He relied on his wit during the interviews to attract sponsors. He was naturally skinny and agile, which would prove helpful upon entering the training center. He gravitated toward sickles, the light weight attracting his less than muscular shape. He was revealed to be a quick learner, dominating all the practice exercises during training and being given an above average score of 8 after his assessment. In the arena, Merc escaped from the Cornucopia with two bags and a sickle, becoming a target early on. He didn’t elect to hide, rather choosing to scour the heavenly plains for delusional tributes and offing them, one being a Career from District 4.
From then on he became the subject of Career interest. On one of the last nights, they’d managed to track him down and instead of killing him immediately, they dragged him back to their camp and proceeded to torture him; gouging an eye out and carving their initials into his forearms before they were lured back to the Cornucopia after a promise of extra supplies and food, as they’d been purposefully deprived of both for days. Two left, leaving a boy from District 2 to look after Merc. It didn’t take long for him to formulate a plan, distracting the other tribute while he located his sickle, enduring a small fight once he was caught, ultimately slicing the tribute’s throat. He passed out from exhaustion shortly thereafter, waking up in a Capitol med center. The remaining tributes had participated in a fatal scuffle at the Cornucopia due to a plethora of hallucinogens released from the ground at their arrival, all eventually succumbing to mortal wounds.
Merc was given a cybernetic eye following his return from the arena, though the scars inflicted upon his arms couldn’t be fully covered in a short time period, so he tattooed over them instead. He was endlessly praised at his first post-Games appearance. It was more recognition than he’d ever received from his loved ones. It was intoxicating. His family was proud as well, but when offered to move to the Victor’s Village with him, all declined. While he felt abandoned by them, even after all he’d went through to show his value, he found a new comfort in Capitolites, who supported him and gave him limitless opportunities — like becoming a musician. He was to be a poster child for what good the Games could do, the type of life you could live if you simply volunteered. He performed at galas and dinner parties, spiraled further into the product of happiness that the Capitol sold to him, and indulged himself more than ever before. It’s how he became involved with the President’s granddaughter, of all people, and whom he would soon share an unimaginably amazing thing with: a child.
Unfortunately for him, he was a Victor; a popular one at that, a Capitol darling, a semi-famous musician, someone who meant something. Exposing his identity in relation to his son would have gotten him killed. It got someone else killed. He could take no risks if he wanted to continue to bask in the life of a celebrity. But would it be worth it? To never know his son, for his son to not know him in return?
It’s slowly beginning to kill Merc anyway. The past fourteen years since his victory he’s shown unabashed support for the Capitol and their values, but as his son grows older each day and becomes more aware of who is and isn’t there for him, he’s starting to second guess his alignments, and God knows what it will do to those he loves if he chooses the wrong path.
Halloween has come to The Capitol and The Victor’s Village! Depending on District tradition, Victors celebrate the holiday in their own ways, whether it is more festive, or if they even celebrate at all. Or they had taken on the more Capitol approach of dressing up in costume. Most of the kids around The Capitol would go trick or treating in the busier areas of The Capitol, though for the most part, in light of recent events, the market square is still very quiet. But the Victor’s Village is open for the kids of the Village to dress up in their costumes and trick or treat around the multiple houses. But with the treats always come the tricks, and there’s bound to be some mischief afoot on this Halloween night! It’s a night of shenanigans and spooks, but mostly fun!
This is not a plot heavy event, this is just a fun, festive “event” for the players to have their characters take part in for the Halloween holiday coming up, if they would like. Feel free to create edits of your characters’ costumes if they are dressing up, or post starters relating to the holiday. Current threads may still continue through this “event”.
