i’ve been a fan of the magicians since i was 15 and have watched the show so many times i’ve lost count

my favorite season is season 3 and my least favorite is season 2 or 5 (haven’t rewatched 5 enough to decide)

this blog is going to be a live blog of me rewatching the magicians from start to finish (will be slow going) and giving thoughts, summaries, meta-analysis, and more tagged under #unauthorized magicians rewatch

i might also do a series about the books on this blog bc i ordered a box set of the books but it might just turn into me shitting on them a little bit bc i don’t necessarily like them but that’s my personal opinion. lev grossman just squicks me out yk

this fandom is small and quite frankly dying out but idk i hope at least some people wanna see this. that would be nice /gen

She is bisexual; she is fluid in her sexuality. She is also emancipated from any guilt surrounding her sexuality, and I like that about her. I like that she doesn’t let Quentin blame her or shame her for the threesome. It was important to play that moment for me. Too often, women are shamed for enjoying sex or participating in sex, which is not an interesting theme for me to play into and the writers certainly don’t play into that either.

Though I hate EVERYTHING else about Q’s death, him using Minor Mending, the Discipline that he thought was so lame, to save the day, was really cool. A Discipline really did feel like it was so fundamental to each of the characters. The magic that is as natural as breathing to them, the one they didn’t need formal training to use, and the broken depressed suicidal kid had Minor Mending. The guy that was always solving problems by putting his mind to it turned out to be able to fix anything if he just concentrated. And then he uses it to solve a problem so big everyone thought it was impossible by fixing a crack in a mirror. It was poetic in its own way.

Too bad about literally everything else in that fucking episode.

what other ship went canon in a bisexual threesome then went canon again in an alternate timeline bottle episode and then went canon a third time in an episode that merged that alternate timeline with the main timeline and explicitly posited gay love as a motivating force in conquering your own demons and gaining the courage to overcome self-loathing and shame

Multi women edit the magicians to the hand I love the writing in the show so much it's so good! I was having a hard time finding the scenes I intend to have kady in here and more fen but longer edits always end up frustrating me

Also I wish there were more canon wlw ships like Margo x fen or Margo x Alice or Julia and kady honestly any of them Id be down.

the post on here that's the inverse of 'not to me, not if it's you' that's like "it is a burden. especially to me especially if it's you. I'll do it but jesus christ" has been rightfully tagged penny and quentin several times but I do want to point out that the magicians s1e4 this is very literally how quentin gets out of the mind meld. canonically quentin psychically annoys penny so bad that penny gets other people to find q's body so he will stop being annoying. I'm not even exaggerating even a little bit, like at all.
