if you read this ur gay
if u rb this ur twice as gay
2018 is all about girls getting buff. ladies getting swole. women getting fucking jacked
men in greek mythology? scoundrels. just terrible. woeful social skills. murderers. kidnappers. violent misogynists. most of them⦠never described as handsome so we have to assume they were ugly.Ā
narcissus? unproblematic. beacon of transformative self love. king of the swerve. gay icon. couldnāt recognize his reflection but neither can my dog, we arenāt holding that against him.
Narcissus wrote this
I refuse to believe Narcissus could read.
iāve been thinking about this response for the better part of 2 hours and it hasnāt gotten less hysterically funny to me
GET A LOAD OF THAT DOG
[distantly] THAT DOG
me: wow the stars are beautiful tonightĀ gf: yeah they are me: you know who else is beautiful though?Ā gf: *blushes* whoĀ me: luigiĀ
me: I really!!!! want!!! people!!!! to help!!!! me with!!!! my problems!!!!!!!
brain: you have to tell people about your problems first.
me: disgusting. atrocious. completely repugnant. selfish. I have never heard anything so vile. get out of my sight immediately.
TUESDAY AGAIN NO PROBLEM
do you ever feel yourself slowly losing your current hyperfixation but youāre not particularly interested in anything else rn so you have nothing to fill that void and ur just bored and ready for death
This is uncomfortably accurate
i feel so called out rn
The bounce is back.
Iād like to personally give a big Fuck You to those of you advocating for third-party candidates (neither of which has broken 10%) and those of you who are so eager to spread WikiLeakās DNC email scandal.
Yeah, this is speculative and too early to call, but the fact that Trump is in the lead - not tailing, leading - right now is terrifying.
This is on you.
So we are supposed to just act like Bernie being fucked over is nothing? We are supposed to act like the only two people in the race are Trump and Clinton? We are just supposed to bow to the corrupt leadership in this country without a fight?
And just a word of advise, how about instead of telling us how terrible we are for exposing Clintonās weaknesses, you try to spread good things she goes, things that would sway people over to your side. Just a thought, but that would be too much too ask from such a narrow mind.
Also, have you tried doing research? The president is just the face of the country that has the power to enforce laws. Sure they can sway public opinion, but the main enemy here is congress. You need to be directing more attention to the people that actually create laws in this country.
As a disclaimer, I am by no means saying that Trump would be a good face for the country. I am just saying that trump can do nothing without congress, and last time I checked, congress hates him.
I see from your blog that youāre 18, meaning this is probably going to be the first election you actually vote in.
And based on what you said in your response, I can only come to the conclusion that youāre going to do one of two things: Vote third-party or not vote. Theyāre basically the same thing.
On to deconstructing your poorly put-together argument:
āā¦Bernie being fucked over is nothing?ā
BERNIE HIMSELF HAS PUBLICLY STATED AT THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION THAT HIS SUPPORTERS NEED TO VOTE FOR HILLARY.
THE MAN IS LITERALLY TELLING YOU ALL TO CEASE THE SENSELESS BULLSHIT OF VOTING GREEN OR WRITING HIM IN AND VOTE HILLARY.
HOW IS THAT DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND?
ā We are supposed to act like the only two people in the race are Trump and Clinton? Ā We are just supposed to bow to the corrupt leadership in this country without a fight? ā
Okay, ignoring the theatricalities, hereās what youāre supposed to do:
Vote Hillary, who is not going to dramatically affect race relations or do anything that will seriously effect the US in a negative way in the next four years.
Then, and please, hold on to your seat because this is where it gets really crazy for some people:
Use the four years while Hillary is in office to build a strong political platform for a third party in the next election. Spend that time making a third party an actual, viable option instead of a wanna-be anarchistās choice when they donāt like either candidate.
ā And just a word of advise, how about instead of telling us how terrible we are for exposing Clintonās weaknesses, you try to spread good things she goes, things that would sway people over to your side. Ā Just a thought, but that would be too much too ask from such a narrow mind. Ā
Also, have you tried doing research? Ā The president is just the face of the country that has the power to enforce laws. Ā Sure they can sway public opinion, but the main enemy here is congress. Ā You need to be directing more attention to the people that actually create laws in this country.ā
Boy, if you donāt sit your scrawny-probably barely passing American Government-white ass down with that ānarrow mindā bullshit.
Hereās the thing:
I donāt have to spread anything positive about Hillary. I donāt like Hillary. I am honestly incredibly disappointed that I have to vote for her. But Iāll be damned if I let Trump get into office.
And thatās what it boils down to: Keeping Trump out.
Hillaryās public image is in the toilet. But she is still light years better than Trump.
The one that needs to do research here is you since you clearly have no idea the kind of social impact a presidential election, or any government election/vote of equal magnitude, can have on a nation.
The most obvious case that is relevant right now is Brexit.
Just to link you to one example - there are countless others - hereās a report in The Independent about a 42% rise in hate crime since the ref result; http://www.independent.co.uk/ā¦/brexit-hate-crime-racism⦠Now crime stats of this nature only represent the tip of the iceberg - many, many more are committed without the victim informing the police for a variety of different reasons. Thatās a huge spike. Thatās not an anomaly. And there is a direct parallel to be made with the US Presidential election. Is everyone who voted for Brexit racist? Of course not. However, an unfortunate sizable minority were and the leaders of the Out campaign knew this and played on it to increase their voter turn out. That is Trump. Build that wall, protect yourselves from the rapists, and brown people. Now, most of the time in recent elections people who have tried to use that as a weapon havenāt won, thank God. However this time they did and itās given us all a very nasty example of what might happen over here at the end of the year. The Brexit vote legitimized racism in the minds of many. The thoughts were always there for some (and most likely always will be to a degree unfortunately) but after decades and decades of mainstream politicians telling them racism was bad and losses for those who would use it they had learned to keep their ugliness in their tiny little heads. This vote was the instance that broke the seal and it all came rushing out. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/ā¦/post-brexit-racism_uk⦠This isnāt sensationalism. Itās simply what has happened.
And there is a good chance it is what would happen here in the result of a Trump win. Thatās not blind speculation, thatās looking at the figurehead/demagogue (Trump/Farage), the type of campaign and what happens in the even of that campaign winning. The UK is just offering a snapshot of our potential future.
As for the Congress bit:
No one is saying to not look at Congress. Literally, no one. But Congress is not the most pressing issue right now. Trump winning the presidency is.
And hereās an ending quote for you to chew over before you to attempt to rebuttle this.
āI just have problems with votes āon principleā in general. An election is about tangible outcomes, not satisfying my personal psychological needs. Who gets into office has real consequences for real people, and treating it like my personal therapy session strikes me as unforgivably narcissitic. Would I rather vote for a candidate I feel more strongly favorable toward? Well, yes. Duh. Iād also rather eat only foods I enjoy the most and work only jobs I find personally fulfilling. But I sure as hell ate a lot of Ramen to get through grad school, and worked a lot of shitty jobs in my twenties to keep the lights turned on. As an educated, straight-appearing white male from an affluent background, I am the very locus of privilege in this culture. And since I am a progressive, I therefore spend a lot of time examining my knee-jerk responses to things. Iāve noticed over the years that a lot of my most unjustified and simply unjust impulses present themselves to me as what āfeels right.ā So Iāve learned to become suspicious of that, suspicious of listening to my āgutā rather than my thinking the issue through. And I canāt help but notice that the language I see used again and again when talking about these protest votes is āIād ratherā or āI donāt wantā or āI just feelā or something like that. Thereās very rarely talk of outcomes. Very rarely talk of tangible consequences. Sure, some people make vague noises about reforming the system, but most of us realize what bullshit that is, even the ones inclined to make the protest votes. Generally, the decision to make the protest vote is couched in the language of personal psychology, in terms of what the person is able to ābring themselvesā to do. Screw that. The voting booth is not my therapistās office. The voting booth is not my church or temple or Wiccan altar or whatever. It is not where I go to find freakinā affirmation or personal enlightenment or achieve a sense of inner damn peace. Itās where decisions are made about who gets to be in charge. Making a protest vote is like sitting down to take a test in your college algebra class and writing an impassioned essay on the injustice of food distribution and waste in this country. Even if youāre right, who cares? This isnāt the place for it, and youāve boned yourself in the process. Only the protest vote is even worse, since your self-indulgence in this situation can also hurt a lot of other people.ā
To any followers, frustrated with the current democratic platform, please these points about not voting independent or not voting at all.
This is by no means saying we should ignore shady stuff done by the DNC. But this absolutely is about voting for the lesser of two evils, because this is the reality of our politics, until some sort of sweeping political/cultural reform, which cannot and will not happen before November. Yeah itās shitty, but this is the reality, and the sooner we suck it up and keep Trump out of the White House, the soon said changes can start to happen.
Well Iām the Empress and I order you to stop floating!
Credits
I now just have this perfect headcanon that if someone is being an asshole and trying to get around her because sheās the Child Empress, Emily will just get up, stand on some furniture so that sheās eye level with them, and demand they say it again.
If furniture is not available she climbs Corvo who stares straight ahead unblinking while she hangs from his shoulders and challenges grown men and women twice her size to say that again about poor people, because as he is learning, his smol cinnamon roll daughter has skipped past many stages of childhood and gone straight for Already Done With Your Shit.
MYSTERY STORY TIME
So there was a single, solitary kiwi on our counter in the kitchen.
And I decided to make fun of my roommate for it, because who buys one, single, solitary kiwi? So I asked her that.
Roommate: I didnāt buy a kiwi.
Me: This isnāt your kiwi?
Roommate: No?
Me: But this isnāt my kiwi.
Roommate: That kiwi was there when I got home.
Me: I donāt even eat kiwi!
As you can see, itās a real kiwi. Here it is, on my counter, giving away nothing.
But I was still confused as to where it came from. Did one of us accidentally buy a kiwi at the store?Ā
So I looked up the Kiwiny company to figure out which stores itās sold at, to see which one of us might have bought it, since we tend to use different grocery stores.
Kiwiny doesnāt have American retailers.
There is literally no reason for this kiwi to be in my kitchen.
It came all the way from Italy and this is how you welcome it
