BRENTON THWAITES as DICK GRAYSON in TITANS SEASON 3 (2021)
TITANS – SEASON 3 ››› Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson
Okay, put this man in solo Nightwing movie please
TITANS S03E11
DICK GRAYSON // LOSS
Maybe
Don’t you like it when they choose great actors, but then stuck them in mediocre projects and you keep wondering “what if…”
BRENTON THWAITES as Dick Grayson (Nightwing) in TITANS (2018- ) | 3x10: Troubled Water
Titans went to drain pretty fast, but Brenton Thwaites as Nightwing still a great casting and Dick Grayson acting in my book. Wish they gave a guy a more quality project. And just a solo Nightwing series or a movie.
Only two comicbook characters actually matter to me. Scott Summers/Cyclops and Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing. And with both I get frustrated how they treated and how they get shifted for the sake of more conventionally popular characters. How their relationships get messed around to fit certain narrative and how their abilities get overlooked. How editors and writers mess with them. Both such a fascinating characters, both amazingly evolved as a characters from their inception, both become top of their game, both have bunch of complex relationships and core characters of their respective franchises. In short both (differently) such a cool male characters with interesting evolution and decades long history. And yet majority writers simply suck at writing them and it just hurts me physically. Not even gonna start about how their adaptations both in movies and animations mostly miss, with occasional hits in between. When they portrayed as weak and most often simplistic, to make another “alpha male” or “strong female” feel superior on their expenses. So I’m so afraid to see them on big screen again. In both MCU and DCEU. I feel like they again will not get their characters and stories right. When you love characters you trend to get overprotective and want best for them. And it’s heartbreaking when they never live up to their potential. Scott and Dick amazing characters and deserves much more thought and respect when they’re written.

What Batfamily-centered hot take are you willing to die on a hill for?
Mine: Dick is a grown ass man who can cook and has his own apartment. Stop infantilizing him to the point that he can’t even toast a pop tart
This for million freakin’ years!!!

It’s Batman Day today (18 September) and to celebrate this auspicious day, I thought it would be apropos to do a photoset of Batman with his various junior partners. Related Post:

Rare moments of showing Scott Summers his true respect as a powerhouse, leader and character.
I love Titans Dick Grayson. I don’t like Titans Bruce Wayne. But that’s the flaw of WB/DC not being able to come up with cohesive universe, when in fact with all those family dynamic, friendship and sidekick concept they’re more in need of shared universe. Because DC characters in general depend more on each other when they grow and evolve as a characters. DC was always about legacy and inspiration, mentors and mentees, siblings and life time friends, lovers and family, fathers and mothers, sons and daughters. I hope one day I will be actually alive to see real representation of DC’s incredible comicbook world adapted to live action.
