As a non biased observer I personally feel like Hughie x A-train would be a lot more popular if Reggie wasn’t black.

literally everything, the whole show, started with them. started with a-train running over hughie's girlfriend. looked back at hughie, covered in blood, said "i can't stop i can't stop," and kept running. if this doesn't happen, butcher doesn't recruit hughie, there's no story, no show, there's no "the boys". i know homelander vs butcher is the central duo, the main enemies or mirrors or whatever, but man, i think for us, the audience, hughie and a-train really was THE beginning. that's where we got dragged into all this too. it all started with them fr..man i feel sick
