Unlaze goes to PET FED’S - DRIVE AND POOL PARTY FOR PETS
Super Super Super excited about this happening 3 days from today at Gracias, Sohna Road, Gurgaon (45 mins from Cyber City). A crazy fun filled day with truck loads of dogs, their humans, a swimming pool and a warm crispy weekend.
All those coming to the event will get a straight invite, no strings attached, for an account on UNLAZE and become a part of a growing community of people looking to socialise with others over similar interests.

Hello good people! Been a while since we’ve put up one of these, or well for that matter any big development :). We’re here, we’re back (not that we were ever gone) and we’re moving with the speed of light! Like really..
So what’s been up with us? TONS! You’ll get to start getting some really cool updates and news on some alliances and partnerships we’ve been putting in place which will kick off this coming gorgeous winters. In the interim, we’ve made some changes to the product which we think you’ll like, check that..LOVE!
• More users in the search screen
In the early days, as the community is growing, we realised it’s super important to drive discoverability. Meaning, as the user base is limited (yet growing), it’s important you keep finding cool new people to connect with, even if it doesn’t really lead to you guys meeting up for that activity. So we’ve added a cool new section in your search screens now called ‘More users nearby’. These are a list of users that fall out of the search radius that you’ve set in the filters giving you a wider access to cool people to connect with. Yeah..we’re awesome. We know.
• Increased search radius (40 Kms)
In the earlier version, you could only take up the maximum search radius to 15 Kms. We got a lot of feedback from our users over the past few weeks to make this change. Your wish is our command. The newest radius is now a whopping 40 Kms, which means more cool people will keep popping up on your screen where ever you are.
• Invite friends - on signup
From the beginning we’ve been giving a LOT of focus on the fact that Unlaze is an invite only community, which means only people from within the system can invite others to be a part of all the awesomeness. Each user gets a default of 5 invites they can use, which means they can feel like god 5 times in total. This section was earlier a part of our navigation menu, but then we figured we might as well not be shy about it and have you guys invite your friends straight up.
Remember, it’s the only way the app and the community grows. We are intentionally not burning any cash on growth marketing that eventually lead to random users being added on the app.
You are god and have all the power.
• Master user - Unlaze
Though this feature helps us more for internal reasons, we took an oath when we launched Unlaze, to be super transparent with you, all the way. So here goes. We’ve created a super admin user called UNLAZE, that acts as an all access pass manager of the app. This user gets access to visiting different sections, inviting as many friends as it wants and communicate with any user who wishes to resolve a query or simply say hi. Think of this user as casper, the friendly ghost if you remember him. Aw..C’mon! We aren’t that old here now are we?
• Bug changes
And then finally some bugs here, some bugs there that we’ve fixed. Just in case something crept under our hard working, super groggy eyes, we have a ‘feedback’ section that’s been provided that allows you to leave a message and suggest any bug you might find. Help us...Don’t be shy now :)

And what we mean by clean is the absence of ‘stalking vultures’ browsing and tapping their phones incessantly with their mangled claws, and bulgy eyes through endless search results hunting their next prey.
In all my preliminary discussions with friends, business associates, investors, this question usually comes about. And strangely enough, this is invariably one of the very first questions that come to their minds. Hm....
Well, the truth is...you can’t. Not a 100% at least. You can always mitigate it radically though. See, when you come up with a community based service or app you don’t want to be focused on how to keep the bad guys out. You’d rather be spending time on the one’s who are on the system and build a great product for them. I mean, isn’t that’s the reason why you started this in the first place?
So instead of controlling what they do when they’re onboard, I would imagine the trick to be to control access in the first place. Yes, strongly inadvisable if what you're trying to go after are crazy, irrational and inorganic growth numbers. But what if that was simply not the goal. And the goal was to create a clean community of users who won’t be scared or embarrassed of being seen on a network.
Take a popular club for example. Don't you think the bouncer will have a lesser chance of an incident at a party where all the people at the club have come through an invite? See the risk hasn’t been eradicated here entirely, simply mitigated. Now once in the party in case their is an incident that can always be dealt with.
Though we are just a few days away from launch and UNLAZE is an invite based community, at first, we’re yet to see for ourselves the impact it’ll have on our community build plan.
And in end, being an invite based community, you too have a hand in helping us keep this clean.
Think about it. With so many ways to connect with other people through social networks, we still find ourselves getting bored on weekdays or weekends, don't we? And nothing really cuts it, does it?
We have tools that allow us to stay in touch with existing friends (Facebook), help us grow our professional network (Linkedin), a few that make us (ahem...) meet new partners (Tinder, Truly Madly, Aisle, Woo) and some that even get us hitched.
But what if we wanted to make new friends, who live nearby, without an “agenda”, and meet them over something that you both love do to? Say a quick jog, music or even a small trip in the mountains. Simply put, how do make new friends?...seriously, doesn’t it get annoying? Sitting home on a weekday or worse, weekends, having no clue about what you’re going to do? Bah!
Unlaze has been created to help us do exactly that. Meet new people, nearby over common interests. Simple.
All of us here at Unlaze, simply cannot wait to release the beta version and give you all something that we’ve been missing. A cool new way to make new friends and stop getting bored :)
