you don’t have to reply to this honestly, i just wanted to say i think a lot of people are not affording avid the benefit of the doubt. you CAN feel violated and not express this fully which can even mean that the violator is not necessarily “in the wrong” since it was never expressed. the violator can be a good person who would never purposefully harm you. the violated can start reading into all their actions as negative despite that not being the true intention. and you CAN say nasty things as a result of this which makes you look insane.

I do not believe most people are approaching this situation with very much compassion, consideration, or critical thinking, no.

yes, it seems there was a conversation between basically everyone on sbk at twitchcon and they came to an agreement about the situation, which is why the statements were all posted around the same time. I have my guesses and speculations as to what happened, and why, but I’m not comfortable making definitive statements without seeing any evidence (from any side). I am not particularly surprised that everyone turned on avid like this though, regardless of what happened.

I will be honest, I do not have a particularly good opinion of musi in general, given how freely she was throwing around serious accusations (viz. workplace harassment) in the first place, and also the issues she’s had in the past regarding going into fan spaces and then complaining about being told to leave. vintage’s statement provides more detail, but again, there’s no actual evidence!! I would like to see some evidence. I don’t know much about vintage (I’ve never watched her content and was only vaguely aware of her) so I can’t speak on how trustworthy she is. because there’s been no evidence whatsoever provided by anyone on any side, I don’t know—and have no way of knowing—who’s in the right or in the wrong or anything at all really. the only information publicly available is whatever statements have been made, and so far none of those seem particularly reliable. at least not in my opinion.

yeah I’ve read through (I believe) all of the statements currently posted and it seems like there are a few things that can be said definitively: 1) whatever this was started about three months ago; 2) avid and marm allegedly accused someone of something very serious, then attempted to convince their friends at the time to cut off contact with that person; 3) a lot of these ccs sure feel very comfortable throwing around words like ‘abuse’ and ‘manipulation’ and ‘narcissist’ without providing any evidence to support those claims. to me it seems pretty obvious that this likely is a result of the initial accusation of someone, realistically scott, pressuring avid into flirting/romance [in mcrp]; presumably, the situation spiralled from there, possibly because avid tried to tell people about what had happened. I just really really wish someone would have some fucking evidence! can we get names! screenshots! anything 😭
