anyway. thank you for your kind words; I continue to be frustrated by the lack of professionalism in how this situation is being handled. and the lack of evidence, for either the general or very specific claims. it’s possible more information will come out over the next couple of days, in which case I will update my opinion accordingly. even if it’s revealed that avid and marm really did do everything they’re being accused of, though, I’ll still think the way sbk et al. chose to go about this was deeply unprofessional and disappointing :/ but that’s not really much of a surprise, unfortunately.

he kinda sucks at acting but he’s so cute when he tries though ❤️
okay I will say, jimmy’s great at bits. I’ve said before that his greatest strength is mirroring whatever energy someone gives him, so if he’s hanging out with good roleplayers, he imitates them and does really well! this is why he and martyn have so many great interactions when they’re both on roleplay servers. I’ve enjoyed the characters he’s played on series like empires, but those are literally just him in different scenarios with different abilities or whatever… he’s good at improv but has a tendency to get flustered/overwhelmed easily. he’s a great entertainer! really it’s just that he can never turn down a good bit. he will take on whatever role he’s given. if he tried to roleplay a more serious storyline I don’t think it would go well lmfao (he Must Be silly) but he’s not without talent; his strengths are in being very responsive to whatever anyone throws at him and being willing to do pretty much anything for the sake of the bit even if it makes him look like a fool. for obvious reasons.

in addition, I’ve also watched various streams from the people I generally talk about, a handful of one-off videos or episodes from series I’ve been meaning to get into, many interviews where scott talks about mcc because I w[static noises returning], a bunch of joel’s old shit from like 2014, and every single jimmy video or stream ever.
all i can say is it's crazy how people accuse you of favoring scott/excusing bad shit he's done, and then when it really comes down to it, you're the only one looking at him with a critical eye while everyone else is dropping avid without hesitation

[for context, this ask was sent before some of the more recent statements with more specific and serious accusations (e.g. what rubyco was talking about)] yyyeah, the way everything is being handled still seems very unprofessional to me. the amount of people joining in, the fact that it’s all happening so publicly, the initial lack of clarity regarding what had allegedly happened… compounded by the fact that avid’s been dealing with transmisogynistic harassment for months now… as I’ve said, it feels like much of this could (and should) have been handled behind the scenes. the fact that the more serious accusations were not at the forefront of the conversation is very frustrating, to say the least. like why are you leading with “lies and manipulation” instead of “(allegedly) making false sexual assault/harassment claims.” come on, now.

I did indeed; this was part of what I was referencing when I said most of the transgressions avid and marm are being accused of seem like personal/workplace drama that should have been dealt with behind the scenes. however, there’s also this:
[avid] fabricated very serious rape allegations against me. this last part I cannot take lightly as I myself have been a victim of rape/sexual abuse in the past. avid knew how much this still [affected] me to this day—he could have chosen any other lie but this one is unforgivable in my eyes. both the supposed victim and I were mortified when we were told about this. I hope I don’t have to say this but I will to cover everything: I did in fact never do anything of the [sort] and am appalled by this.
which is of course a very serious accusation! as far as I’m aware, it was never made public that avid had accused ruby of such things, so I’m curious if anyone else will say anything about it. I’m also a bit confused as to why the sbk members didn’t lead with this, but I could understand if ruby was uncertain about sharing the information publicly at first (since their statement was posted quite some time after the initial wave of statements). it’s a developing situation yet.

I have not said anyone is wrong for making these statements; all I’ve done is say it’s more difficult to believe them without any evidence provided. these are very serious accusations being made! it would be one thing if this were “we’ve cut ties with avid and marm,” but this is “avid and marm are dangerous manipulative abusive narcissists,” and those are not claims I take lightly! those are claims that require evidence for me to believe them lmao. I don’t doubt that the sbk members were hurt, but being hurt is not the same thing as being manipulated and abused. if avid had accused a specific person of something specific, I would also want to see some actual evidence to support that claim. I’m not the kind of person who’s going to just automatically believe whoever releases the most recent twitter statement about a situation.

it seems like there are a few things that can be said definitively: 1) whatever this was started about three months ago; 2) avid and marm allegedly accused someone of something very serious, then attempted to convince their friends at the time to cut off contact with that person; 3) a lot of these ccs sure feel very comfortable throwing around words like ‘abuse’ and ‘manipulation’ and ‘narcissist’ without providing any evidence to support those claims. (…) I just really really wish someone would have some fucking evidence! can we get names! screenshots! anything 😭
it’s very difficult for me to take a side when it’s not been explained by anyone specifically What Happened. I’m not going to blindly trust someone’s—anyone’s!—statements, especially when they’re making serious accusations without evidence. I don’t know who’s in the right here! I wouldn’t be surprised if no one were in the right.
because there’s been no evidence whatsoever provided by anyone on any side, I don’t know—and have no way of knowing—who’s in the right or in the wrong or anything at all really.
I have my guesses and speculations as to what happened, and why, but I’m not comfortable making definitive statements without seeing any evidence (from any side).
if anyone (for instance, any of the [checks notes] nearly a dozen current and former sbk members who have made frustratingly vague statements saying Something Happened but providing zero evidence) were to offer some concrete proof that avid and marm truly are the manipulative abusive monsters they’re claiming they are, well, I would be more inclined to believe that side of the story. (…) I’m getting very frustrated with the lack of any evidence whatsoever and the way people seem to be behaving as though everyone should trust them when quite frankly I have no more reason to trust random people from sbk than I have to trust avid than I have to trust scott.
