I still desperately want a Star Trek episode where the A plot is a Borg attack and the B plot involves Tribbles and the crew ends up solving two problems at once by beaming the Tribbles onto the Borg cube, disabling that cube long enough for them to get away because the Tribbles reproduce faster than the Borg can assimilate them.

Two seasons later they encounter that same cube that now resembles a giant Tribble with some cyborg elements and basically the Tribble equivalent of a naked mole rat colony. It's effectively harmless as long as the Trorg (tribble borg) stay contained and don't land on any inhabited planets or ships. They don't assimilate other lifeforms they just rapidly reproduce and take over any space they land on, leaving no room for the existing occupants.

Look, I'm not a political blog at all. But what RFK Jr is trying to do goes to show how much we've thrown high support needs autistics under the bus.

Because he's not talking about the autistics posting online about how they work and pay taxes.

He's talking about the non-speaking ones who have been posting on this app for years that they're in danger and LSN autistics bullied into either leaving or until only a few remain who still face backlash.

He's talking about the ones we aren't on here screaming into a void because they can't write or speak. And LSN autistics rallied louder until autism awareness came to look like we're all just LSN.

He's talking about the ones with carers who want them to be put through experiments to see if they can be cured because autistics bullied carers into their own part of the internet until they were stuck in an echo room of hate.

People with low spoons, someone just recommended this cookbook to me, so I thought I’d pass it on.

I always look at cookbooks for people who have no energy/time to do elaborate meal preparations, and roll my eyes. Like, you want me to stay on my feet for long enough to prepare 15 different ingredients from scratch, and use 5 different pots and pans, when I have chronic fatigue and no dishwasher?

These people seem to get it, though. It’s very simple in places. It’s basically the cookbook for people who think, ‘I’m really bored of those same five low-spoons meals I eat, but I can’t think of anything else to cook that won’t exhaust me’. And it’s free!

Listen, I thought we were above shaming people for reading popular fiction as a society, and I'm getting a little tired of how elitist and condescending it all is. People are free to hate on Fourth Wing/Iron Flame/Onyx Storm all you want, for whatever reason you find to dislike them. But can you just leave the people that enjoy them the fuck alone? Rebecca Yarros isn't trying for groundbreaking literature, we aren't reading this and claiming it's genre-defining or overly deep - she is trying to give a fun and page turning story.

And you know what else she gave us? THE FIRST PROTAGONIST WITH EHLERS-DANLOS SYNDROME that I've ever known! Do you know how insanely important that representation is to me? How cool it is to have a badass like Violet dislocating joints and holding herself together with tape and braces, just like I do? I just would love to be able to be more openly psyched about this popular book series featuring a female lead character with EDS without having to feel mocked.

I saw someone- who doesn’t have EDS- also equate violet’s hEDS as “just popping ankles” and I went on a rant about it on tiktok honestly. It’s such important representation to have and to see for someone who is going through trying to get my probable hEDS diagnosed it was so nice to see someone with my health problems be a main and badass character.
