My hands
My skin
My air
Time has cemented me deep down
My body tuned into roots
In places where there’s no water or air
I have deeply learned to preserve it
Nothing can kill this fire
That keeps my heart beating
This entire time
And they told me to hold on
As if I’m a tree , to live a thousands of years
Witness wins and loses
And some smiles and some tears
And if someone sets the forest on fire
My roots will keep me holding on
For thousands of years
Cemented into this time
Patience has held my hand and forced me into submitting my cries
For no other has the power over time
And even if it holds my hand
The life lessons are hard to pass by
