The weather is so nice out, maybe I'll take the mandrakes out to enjoy the sun. Let them meet the local flora. There's a lot of dandelions out, maybe they can make friends

It's hard though, because i don't speak plant, so i won't know if the dandelions are being nice or not :(

Look who finally got their own pots today!

This little group came to the cottage as seedlings, and sickly at that. They had been pulled out of their native soil through a sloppily drawn portal circle, and any juvenile mandrake younger than sapling age won't survive long outside of their native soil.

Keeping them in medicated/spellbound water is pretty much the only option and they'll have to stay there until sapling age at least.

This group did really well in their water though, and eventually got to be transferred into a medicated soil patch.

They're finally stable and old enough to have their own little private pots and they're doing super well

They grow up so fast :')

PSA for rune circle portals

Double check your Rune work before portaling between the realms! It's really easy to mess it up and take the ground inside your rune circle with you!

The ecological damage to the faewilds is pretty negligible as pretty much nothing from the mortal realm can flourish in the fae realm, but the reverse is disastrous!

Even a small casting circle's worth of fae realm earth can contain half a dozen Mandrake Roots!

They can't survive in the mortal realm for long, and can't get back on their own. Not to mention the PH balance of the soil is so dissimilar to their native soil it sends them into a sort of shock and need treatment/recovery time before they can go back home.

My cottage is bursting with these little guys at the moment because of this, and I almost lost one of the saplings to shock last week :(

Please double check your rune/wards before your portal, and if you're not confident, use a fairy circle! It's a super simple spell to find one, and you won't risk the lives of any Mandragora or other fae-life!
