Stokeley Carmichael knew/knows whatâs up.
In his words, âYour opponent must have a conscious. The United States has none.â Is this why The United States of America was one of the first countries to abolish slavery?
âA series of comments were made attesting to Brownâs physical limitations. A physical examination showed Brown was âtoo twisted by rheumatism to assault anyone.â An unidentified Omaha World-Herald reporter allegedly interviewed Brown in jail and âconfirmed by his observation the manâs crippled condition.â His chronic rheumatism meant Brown would be unable to overpower Loeback and Hoffman, concluded Jim McKee, a Lincoln Journal writer.â [source]
These photos of brutal torture and lynching should be forever memorized in the minds of the public to show the importance of the basic human right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. While lynchings do not happen anymore, the lynch mobs are still very much alive in the form of social media and judgement before the court of public opinion. In todayâs world, when a man is accused of sexual assault, it is a lifetime sentence of being forever linked to an accusation even if proven false because many people will assume the victim retracted her accusation out of fear or because of some other reason besides that she was lying. Believing without proof is a knee-jerk reaction for the simple minded who are not interested in actual justice but rather parroting an agenda and/or channeling vicarious retribution.Â
We have laws in this country which are bound by what can be proven. That is the basis of the civilized world. To reject the requirement of proof when a crime is committed is to reject the integrity of justice altogether. It is to announce to the world that you lack a moral compass and dismiss the justice system that took thousands of years to create.
I will say it again as I have in the past that you can believe an alleged victim while not perpetuating the lynch mob mentality. It is possible to believe an alleged victim while also defending the rights of the accused. Defending the rights of the accused is not the same as defending what they are being accused of. It is in defense of true justice and that is only something a critical thinking and morally straight individual can understand.
All of this is why I am against the, âbelieve all women,â movement. I prefer to hear or see proof of a crime because too often innocent men are locked away in jail, or suffer worse consequences and thatâs not the America I know and was raised in. Proof matters. His story is why proof matters.
This is how you kill depth in a character.

So Christians in America have been heavily persecuted, oppressed and silenced for the last one hundred years...
Christianity has been removed from our schools, our government, our legal system, our jobs, and our films. Hollywood won't make any movie or character that is even remotely Christian unless it is to portray them in a negative, toxic light...
And God knows we've all tried to be patient and we have tried to speak out about these injustices...and we're still not being heard, validated, nor acknowledged...
Should we riot in the streets and destroy our own towns until Hollywood starts to portray us in the good light we deserve to be shown in? (No.) Should we protest violently until Christianity is put back in our schools? (No.)
If your answer is, "No," then I seriously hope you're against ALL rioting...because ALL rioting is WRONG.
It is NEVER okay to riot!
I am 100% against rioting.
We Christians will continue to take the high road and will continue to protest and speak out PEACEFULLY as MLK would have wanted...
The Spanish government rejected the Mexican president's demand, suggesting Spain's invasion of the Americas shouldn't be judged through our modern lens.
Spain immediately rejected AMLOâs demand for an apology. In a statement issued on Monday, the government of Prime Minister Pedro SĂĄnchez wrote:
The Spanish government profoundly regrets the publication of the Mexican presidentâs letter to his majesty the king on March 1st and completely rejects its content. The arrival of the Spanish on Mexican soil 500 years ago cannot be judged in the light of contemporary considerations. Our closely related peoples have always known how to view our shared history without anger and from a shared perspective, as free peoples with a common heritage and an extraordinary future.
Are they still pissy about Gibraltar?
Dunno, it did mention at the end they were allowing a return for Sephardic Jews that were expelled during the Spanish inquisition.
I didnât expect thatâŚâŚ
The actor was charged with felony disorderly conduct for filing a false report.
In a stunning move, prosecutors in Chicago dropped all charges against âEmpireâ actor Jussie Smollett on Tuesday, a month after he was hit with felony counts stemming from what police said was a staged street attack on himself in an attempt to get a pay raise, according to his lawyers.
Smollett appeared at an an emergency court hearing in Chicago Tuesday, where prosecutors told a judge they were dismissing the charges of disorderly conduct and filing a false police report against the 36-year-old actor.
A spokeswoman for the Cook County Stateâs Attorney Office said that there was no plea deal, but rather an âagreement,â and that no community service will be required of Smollett.
Smollettâs lawyers, Tina Glandian and Patricia Brown Holmes, released a statement confirming that all charges had been dropped.
âToday, all criminal charges against Jussie Smollett were dropped and his record has been wiped clean of the filing of this tragic complaint against him,â the defense attorneys said in a statement. âJussie was attacked by two people he was unable to identify on January 29th. He was a victim who was vilified and made to appear as a perpetrator as a result of false and inappropriate remarks made to the public causing an inappropriate rush to judgement.â
The attorneys added, âJussie and many others were hurt by these unfair and unwarranted actions. This entire situation is a reminder that there should never be an attempt to prove a case in the court of public opinion. That is wrong. It is a reminder that a victim, in this case Jussie, deserves dignity and respect. Dismissal of charges against the victim in this case was the only just result.
They said Smollett âis relieved to have this situation behind him and is very much looking forward to getting back to focusing on his family, friends and career.â
Smollett told police that on Jan. 29, he was walking on a street near his apartment around 2 a.m. when he was set upon by two men. The attackers allegedly shouted racist and homophobic slurs before hitting him, pouring âan unknown chemical substanceâ on him â- possibly bleach -â and wrapping a rope around his neck, he told detectives.

@tooiconic The new designs are amazing and appropriate for actually fighting like all the male fighters are dressed. Youâre just horny and salty that you wonât be getting tiddy shots while youâre fighting. Grow up.
There are/have been shirtless men, stupidly dressed men, and basically animals in this game but yeah write me a paragraph about tits.
Donât trust morning you. Morning you is a dick. Morning you would sell your loved ones if it got them 5 minutes of extra sleep
maybe morning me wouldnât be such a dick if that flaky bitch evening me had gone to bed instead of tumblring til butts oclock int he morning
Well evening me might have fallen asleep at a reasonable hour if that dumbass afternoon me hadnât lain down for a âlittle napâ that lasted four hours.
Unpopular opinion: We should teach gun safety in highschool.
Along with drivers ed. And we should work towards bringing woodshop and most home economics classes back into school.
You know. Teach our children to be skilled, well rounded individuals instead of telling most of them to be unskilled scholars with too much debt.
they donât teach drivers ed, home ec, or woodshop in schools anymore fyi
We should teach gun safety, drivers ed, home economics, and woodshop in high school. Seriously what even are kids learning today?
Driverâs Ed has been made into its own business essentially, so you have to spend money outside of school to get it. I do think it should be brought back, most people need transportation for jobs and everyday life. I think they should also couple in a few mechanics lessons like oil changing, tire changing, and general maintenance. As mechanics is often an elective. I say keep more advanced mechanics as an elective, but move the very basics inside Driverâs Ed.
Home Ec is still in schools, but has been reduced to an elective. So itâs not *required*, you have to seek it out to take it, like I did, because cooking skills were something important enough to me to consider taking.
Woodshop like Home Ec has been reduced to an elective. Itâs fine to be that I think, woodworking isnât as prevalent a trade as it used to be.
Gun safety though, yeah sorry but I disagree that it be a mandated curriculum course. Most people in their lives will never hold or use a gun, itâs just not commonplace enough of an experience to necessitate becoming anything core curriculum. Instead, I say roll in self-defence lessons in with PE. After all, PE is generally just getting exercise, running laps constantly isnât that useful a skill, so put some self-defence physical lessons to mix up PE curriculum and make it more practical.
Ok that last paragraph is confusing. You think that everyone should be taught self defense, but no one should be taught self defense weapons? That doesnât make sense to me.
I think that everyone should have experience, and some degree of skill, with weapons. Especially guns.
Self defense courses, with and without weapons, should be a mandatory piece of curriculum and a regular part of our society. That includes gun safety.
We will agree to disagree then.
I see these as different levels of self-defence, physical self-defence is what I consider basic, it requires no implements, just your own body and knowledge of general anatomy of anotherâs. Thatâs simple and cost-effective enough to be taught in a school: holds, strikes, basic flipping someone over your back, and escapes.
Introducing a gun into the mix, complicates self-defence on multiple levels. Sure it can be boiled down to aim and shoot, but thereâs accuracy that needs to be taught, guns which have to be bought to teach with, maintenance and storage, loading procedures, licence application/gun obtaining lessons. Mainly this would be rather advanced self-defence, is on the niche side of experience, and is not cost-effective, nor is really that feasible for a high school.
And before you get into guns, youâd need to cover other self-defences like batons, tasers, and other more physical-based implements which cost less and would likely be coveted before guns would. When it comes to cost and skill/experience requirements, gun knowledge/use/safety just fits better outside the curriculum.
