Some headcanons and au thoughts:
I gave Monomon this very fast-paced speech patter based on the text in the archives having a vibe of the author being in a hurry to write down her notes. Not that it's confirmed to be her, it's just my thoughts. And she writes poetry, people who write poetry usually have lots to say
Pale King, ooooh, I gave him maaad level 100 social anxiety. His foresight only makes it worse, he's prone to overthink every minor interaction, he's sooo miserable. It will come into play later. In these pages you can see that he trusts Monomon, allowing her into his space and not hiding his literally (void) blood-stained hands.
Btw, it's my fav fanon trait people give him. Amazing, 10/10 on the angst scale
And yeah in this au they probably did a lot of messed up things to the Hollow Knight to test it and what the void can do. Scientists do be doing science :)
