Comic for @witchflameweek , I have this silly headcanon that the Crossroads are a blind spot in Prometheus' foresight so when he goes there he’s just kind of a regular guy.
I'm a weak, weak woman...
Is this a safe space to admit the nickname Ody makes me cringe 😭

I need more people to acknowledge the fact that Penelope is always crying
Penelope unaware that she's pregnant when Odysseus leaves for war, only finding out when she goes into a stress induced labor during an argument with her mother-in-law and sister-in-law about her neglect of telemachus months later. Sudden pains erupting within her, growing in intensity until she collapses to the ground unable to bear it any longer silently.
Hours later, when she gives birth to a stillborn baby boy there is but a cold numbness spreading within her, even as the mid-wives say there was nothing that could be done, that the baby came too early.
I just saw a dude that say, if Troy fell bc of Paris, and Rome was born later, Paris not only doomed ancient Greece, but also indirectly caused the death of Jesus
I'm crying, slander has no right to be so creative
Penelope and Athena need more acknowledgement
this might just be THE worst review oat 🥀
Drink water and love Athena ! ✨
Diomedes' upbringing is so important to me.
He was a child for 4-5 years tops. Do you think Tydeus used to carry him whenever he asked, giggling and bumbling? Would he throw him in the air and tickle him when he returned to his arms? Kissing his little nose, so like his, praying to the gods that his son would be a great man, praying to Athena that she would look after his baby the same way she looked after him.
Then Tydeus is gone. Deipyle is silent now, Comaetho sobs in her room when she thinks nobody can see her there. Everyone around Diomedes whispers his father's name with disdain and follows it with big words he does not understand, he is only 5 and they have already determined he will either be a great man bright enough for the light of his glory to cast away the shadow of Tydeus, or he will be nothing at all. Disgrace, they say, blaspheme, abhorrent. Cannibal. Diomedes' tiny hand tugs at his mother's skirt and he asks her what those words mean. She does not even turn to look at him. She hasn't in a while.
Diomedes grows old enough to know what they mean. He decides he will be a greater man than his father. His glory will shine bright enough to stamp the shadow of Tydeus out. He is barely 10 years old. The other children do not play with him, their parents tug them away whenever they get too close. So he does not play. He trains. He is young, but his arms are knotted with muscle and his hands are calloused, small and calloused. The only people who pay him mind are his sister and the other epigoni– all older than him. All living in the miserable shadows of their fathers.
Diomedes is 14 when he first kills a man. He watches him choke on his blood and writhe on the ground. He should move, staying still on the battlefield means death. He does not. He stands there and thinks of his father. What if it is a curse? What if one day, he will watch a man die and want to claw at his brain matter too? Scoop into his skull, watch the blood run under his fingernails and stain the grooves of his skin, as he brings the squelching flesh to his mouth. Diomedes hurls. Sthenelus' hand is firm on his shoulder, his armour shifts. It is too big for him. Sthenelus wears a kind smile as he adjusts Diomedes' helmet, and he never leaves his side from then on.
Diomedes is 14 and Aegialeus, bright, shining Aegialeus is dead. His lips, once always stretched into a smile, now lay slack. His glimmering eyes now dull. Diomedes is 14 and Adrastus lays dead in his chambers. Diomedes is 14 and an old man crowns him. King.

Nauplius is so based because bro saw Greeks taking captured women as their second wives and decided to convince the wives in Greece to take second husbands its a very specific way to avenge his son
