What About The Kens?
I'm already seeing guys complain about the Barbie movie end, how they wanted Kens to be equal in Barbieland but were only given a small part on the Cabinet.
That's the point.
This is literally the best thing I read about Barbie movie! And it's shocking how people still can't grasp these thoughts after watching the movie cause it was very clearly shown??!!
@one-time-i-dreamt petition for you to join threads
The HIMYF finale is awesome. It takes you on a roller coaster of emotions no matter WHO you are, but if you are a fan of HIMYM, it's really something special.
I love how the show waited to establish itself before it really went hard on the nostalgic references. That way you're getting something out of the show even if you didn't watch its predecessor, and it also feels like a nice payoff, a little treat, for riding the new wave.
It also establishes its first runners and puzzle clues and I've been craving that all season. It's really found its groove!
Can't wait for Season 2!
So true!! I really wasn't expecting it to be good but by the end I'm really excited for season 2!
Remember this viral post? Wanda and Jamal and her husband Lonnie are the most wholesome people, this story brought tears to my eyes originally and I am crying once more learning from Jamal's social media that Lonnie has sadly passed away.
Rest in Peace, Lonnie :(
Things like these make me wanna live another day.
It was really noice to see Andy also evolve as an actor over the course of these 8 years. I guess his acting reached its peak with those heart eyes and that sweet smile when he sees Mac pulling up! That was it for me. đĽşđĽşđĽşâ¤â¤
okay but like ur actually trying to tell me that justin fucking beiber beat harry styles, olivia rodrigo, and taylor swift for best pop and beat olivia rodrigo and taylor swift for ARTIST OF THE YEAR??
no absolutely not weâre better than this as a society
Heyo.
Because you are into Marvel, I was wondering if I could share/tag you in this Loki song I wrote? And if you have any type of creative stuff such as art or fics, we could have a look/share? ^_^
Yess I would love to hear the song! And I wish I had some creative stuff but I don't do anything like that :( but I enjoy looking at creative stuffs so please tag me in them ^_^
The only âNot All Menâ post Iâll reblog.
To break down rape culture, we need to stop teaching people that men canât help themselves; they absolutely can look for enthusiastic consent, and they must. This is absolute bare minimum decent human being behaviour.Â
Also, if you stop teaching people that âmen canât help themselvesâ it tends to go hand in hand with teaching the fact that no, men do not âalways want itââ which in turn is beneficial for those men who might themselves be assaulted, regardless of the rapistâs gender. Enthusiastic, mindful consent applies to everyone.
More Beautiful After Being Broken
What this trite imagery misses out on is the fact that kintsukuroi requires a lot of work to repair a piece like that. It takes a lot of time, a lot of effort, a great deal of investment. Sometimes parts of the original are damaged beyond repair, and you have to instead painstakingly create entirely new ones.  Itâs still not the same. Maybe itâs something more beautiful. But itâs not the fact that it broke that makes it beautiful. Itâs the work put into it. Itâs the fact that people made the effort to salvage it, because it was worth salvaging, because it was important enough to salvage.   Itâs the care that makes the beauty.  An apology canât always fix what has been broken. That doesnât mean itâs not irreparable, sometimes you can go on to rebuild and repair. But it wonât ever be the same as it was again. Â
I really appreciate this addition because Iâve always hated the âmore beautiful for having been brokenâ thing. Being broken sucks and I hate all those tragic romantic sensitivities that try to make it what itâs not. These pieces are beautiful because theyâre repaired with effort put in to making them shine.
I would like to say one thing to the Loki Fandom:
This show is Tom's baby. Yes, many other creators collaborated to make it happen, but if you think for a second the whole thing doesn't rest in his ridiculously handsome hands, you're wrong. He's the title character. The one, the biggest, the brightest Loki. If not for him, this show would not exist.
I say again, this show is his baby. It's his ART.
Remember that when you're publicly shitting on it.
Remember his dedication to the character, and to the Fandom. Remember that playing Loki is a labor of love for him. Remember that acting is his passion.
If you've ever had a passion--created art, or built things, or designed anything--you can put yourself in Tom's (and the other creators') shoes.
How does it feel when somebody nitpicks something you created from your heart and soul? How would it feel if they straight up shit on it, and on you for creating it?
How would you feel if you also had deep affection and appreciation for the people who were shitting on it? How would you feel if you were hoping to please them with your authentic, heartfelt creation--because you and they share a love and passion for the same thing--and they responded with scorn and vitriol, and refused to see the value of what you created, simply because it wasnt exactly what they were hoping for?
Critique is one thing. Constructive criticisms, sure. But damn, you guys are being straight up nasty.
Seriously, people. This is shameful. You can do better.
Hate me in the comments if u like. I said what I said.
i've been seeing all these posts about the vest and how nat wore it in infinity war and how cute it was when yelena got excited about the pockets and all of that is brilliant and wonderful and should be discussed.
however
i can't get over the vest being the first thing yelena bought for herself. how, in the scene where she shows it to nat, nat is clearly underwhelmed by it. it's just a vest. but then yelena explains why it's so important, and then natasha says it's cool. and yelena says, "i knew you thought it was cool", which as a little sister myself, am almost certain translates to "big sister approves of my vest, time to rejoice". and it strikes to the core of yelena's feelings that their family was real and nat really is her big sister and she just wants her big sister to like the vest she bought because it's the first thing that's ever truly been hers, both physically but also as something she chose. her childhood was fake (as natasha keeps insisting) so all yelena has is this vest and the opinion of her not-sister who she still thinks the world of.
and then
at the end of the film, yelena gives natasha the vest. and i truly believe that she's able to do this, to part with her symbol of freedom and autonomy, because she's healed. her family was real, it was real to every member of it. and the red room, the organization that took her mind and personhood from her, is finally destroyed.
yelena looks at her big sister who says she's her big sister, who is insisting that she's going to face this next threat alone, and she's like, "this is a person in need of a cool vest". but maybe she's also like, "this is a way to prevent her from forgetting me again". but also maybe she's really like, "my big sister might need a reminder of her own autonomy, but also that she has a someone who always has her back."
yelena doesn't need the vest anymore, because she can be sure that she's her own person without it. and natasha's been her own person for a while now, and so the vest becomes something different. it's yelena saying that she has nat's back. it's a reminder of family. and it's given casually and effortlessly, because that's how we love when we love unconditionally.
Hereâs why we love Yelena
No, I donât think Yelena took over Natasha in her own film. Not at all.
Yelena wouldnât exist without Natasha. Yelena is Natashaâs little sister. Most of Yelenaâs actions in the film, are connected to Natasha, in some way. Yelenaâs storyline in the film is so intricately connected to Natasha, you canât really make a comment about Yelena without referencing Natasha.
At the beginning of the film, Yelena got the antidote- and sent it to Natasha.
Yelena proudly shows off the first purchase she made for herself- and she gifts it to Natasha.
Yelena killed Draykov and almost sacrificed herself- for Natasha.
Yelena tries her first superhero pose- to copy/make fun of Natasha.
Yelena eventually gets a dog- and names it after Natasha (âs alias, Fanny Longbottom).
Yelena does take on part of Natashaâs role in this film though.
Natasha has always been our guide through Marvel films. Whenever Natasha is in a film, sheâs the one guiding the audience through itâs events. From the sidelines, of course, because Marvel has been sexist for years. Weâve talked about this here. Extensively. What Yelena does for the Black Widow movie, is that she is the relatable character. She guides us through the movie, and we relate to her.
Yelena is us, guys. Yelena is the little girl who grew up looking up to Natasha. Natasha Romanoff, is Yelenaâs hero. Yelena is a new generation of women who grew up looking up to Natasha Romanoff, and who love her with all their goddamn hearts.Â
I mean, Look at Her Posing as Natasha Romanoff
What Yelena gave us, is a gift.Â
She gave our love to Natasha on screen! She gave her her favourite vest (with all the pockets). She gave her the shared trauma, that all of us women, face, and she showed her that sheâs not alone. That sheâs never been alone.Â
Natasha has the wisdom of the women that came before her (Melina), the love of the mother who never gave up on her (and I so love that they didnât give a shit about the name of her father by the way. This movie has said Fuck You to Endgame and the Avengers in every possible way). Natasha has that invincible goodness that is herself, the heart that she never loses, and she has us, all the women who look at her, and see a piece of ourselves, our pain, looking back.
Yelena also gifted us with finally saying a proper goodbye to Natasha.Â
Natasha Romanoff is our hero, and she deserved to walk into the sunset, as she did, and fly off to new adventures, as she did. With a smile on her face, with the love of 2 families in her heart, and with the gratitude of millions of women on her shoulders.Â
I can never thank the makers of this film, and Scarlett Johansson, enough. Never.
Our Loki, witnessing his variants being so extra and causing mayhem
This has the same energy as the embarrassed Bruce watching his younger version happily smashing literally everything
Poor traumatised babies! â¤ď¸
the tva found classic loki bc he âgot lonelyâ and decided to reunite with thor. before he even made it off the planet, he was arrested. loki and sylvie created a nexus event on lamentis when they found comfort in each other in the face of almost certain death. iâm convinced that the nexus events (concerning loki) are because they decide they donât deserve to be alone, and are worthy of companionship. they go against the role of âmisunderstood and isolated villainâ that the timekeepers/sacred timeline expects them to fill, and are punished for it
So i hear you like snakes. How do you feel about hognose snakes? Ever heard of them?
Yes, they are fun and adorable and silly
This is their best defense. Rolling over, pretending to be dead with their mouth agape. Basically their the possums of the snake world.Â
And if you flip them they violently roll back over because NO IM DEAD
You canât just say that without providing a clip of what it looks like, itâs hilarious
STOP IT IâM DEAD
NO FUCK YOU IâM DEAD
@dami-cant-cope POSSUM SNAKE POSSUM SNAKE
So Phase 4 is basically just traumatized characters getting the therapy they desperately deserve.
