I sorta wish more referential language wasn't just... half of the word with an -an or -y at the end, haha. I know it's simpler and it does get the job done, I just wish there was more variety I guess.
This is something neoumbrellas do alot of, like... Completely random example, but the referential language for Occunous could've just been 'individual: occu, minor: occy, adult: occan' but it's not. Instead, we have horror and view. And, they generally give off the feel of the concept of Occunous better? In my opinion, anyway. Like... Occunous is, amongst other things, a neoumbrella about The Beholding from the Magnus Archives, an entity focused primarily on the fear of being watched and the need/desire to know despite any risk. Horror is a word that is typically used in fearful contexts, and to view something is to watch it. These are words that encapsulate the vague concept of Occunous, and precisely why they work so well as referential language. Hypothetically, if it were to be occu/occy/occan, while that would work (primarily due to Occu being a root word (presumably) from oculus, meaning eye...), it wouldn't give off the vibe of Occunous nearly as well as the existing referential language does.
Ramble over, but I just feel like more... conceptual I guess is the word, referential language would do good? Just food for thought.
