Magical healing is a tricky thing. Truly talented practitioners must posses both a prodigious strength of aether and expert undestanding of medical technique. As a fundamentally generative art, it is always a race against the body's natural healing processes; while a sufficiently powerful healer may regenerate almost any kind of wound, we cannot directly convert scarred tissue to healthy flesh. Those techniques which do exist for removing scars are not for the faint of heart. First, all afflicted tissue must be cut away. The healer will then recreate the flesh to the desired state, restoring both appearance and function to the best of their ability. It is a difficult, painful, and risky procedure, requiring the creation of a much larger wound than the original injury. Without some dire exigence, most healers would refuse such an operation on principle - if they're even capable of carrying it out in the first place.

so far olden era is really making me want to play heroes iii

#its not BAD by any stretch #but its impossible to avoid the comparison and i think h3 is just The One for me #while i find certain QOL features and evolutions on the gameplay exciting #it's just not the right Feel. i think the art style's doing a lot to that end tbh #again it's not like it's ugly or anything #but i find the maps and city screens less immediately readable #and im just so enamored with the art in 3 #i will say the beta is ALSO not being helped by the lack of any proper scenario maps #theres like 5 in there and theyre all Small 1v1 at best #i'm optimistic that once it gets some big 8(+?) player balanced and handcrafted maps i'll enjoy it more #but the mapmaker is unusable rn and the campaign does that thing where you have to play 50 hours before it lets you build tier 3 buildings #i still have not reached a campaign map where tavern isnt banned #dont get me wrong i liek a campaign style experience but not right now #i wanna try it out with all the bells and whistles it's frustrating to have all the guardrails on when im trying to check out new factions #also i have 0 interest in pvp or template-generated maps #i have to say tho i do really like the skill progression from what ive seen so far #a bit more depth and customization to it

this was an early concept from what eventually became the comic i just posted. knew i wanted to do something with the minfilias and "one life for one world" but wasnt sure how i wanted to compose it

#recycled the 'one glowing eye' thing a little bit into ryne in the comic but i really liked how corpselike the wotm half of minfilia is here #in contrast with the fear writ on the shadowed half of her face #anyway i just really think wol should have some awful ugly feelings about hydaelyn. and also at LEAST a handful of the other scions too #valerianart #ffxiv
