Vasan: Once did an interview where I thought it was a really amazing interview with this interiew, who's asking such intelligent questions and really nuanced questions.

She asked me, "Is there something that you feel frustrated about?"

I said, "I often get asked this, and sometimes I feel like it's disingenuous, the question. It's just there to make the headline."

That became the headline and it was like, the irony is just completely lost on the editor here because, you know, it just sort of undermined the entire experience I had with someone I thought I was having a very intelligent conversation with.

Because then it becomes like I'm complaining about something and actually you asked me the question, so I feel like, I guess sometimes I'm not in control of the narrative, and that can be frustrating. Because it's like I will read, you know, a long article on The Guardian or Vanity Fair or something about a brilliant actor, often white or posh. And they will be talking, about their love of gardening and how it informs acting and meditation, all of these things.

And it's really like genuine curiosity about their process.

And often I feel like I don't think you're genuinely curious about why I am an actor. I think you're curious how I managed to do it.
