Everytime anyone talks about Shane being on all fours during sex or them doing doggy style I don't imagine Shane fully up on his hands and knees. I think that's how they did doggy in the begging but as they got more comfortable and got to know each other, they both knew they like doggy better when Shane's whole upper half, his chest, his face, are completely flush against the mattress and it's just his hips that are raised up enough to give Ilya full access. the people of montreal really love this bit. not only are the crowds blowing hollander kisses every time he scores in a home game, but also he's getting ribbed about it during post-game press. Everyone Loves Cap Kissy Time

it becomes something of a montreal local meme. every time something good happens (nailed a job interview? got a promotion? got back a straight-A report card?) you have to blow a kiss to the centre bell. for captain hollander.

this is all well and good until the day they just barely lose a game to boston in overtime. and then rozanov turns to blow a kiss across the ice to hollander.

I have quite a few thoughts about the sexual dynamic between hollanov that I would love to discuss but I’ve been mulling about a specific aspect of it for a couple days now.

Ilya and Shane will play wrestle semi regularly and while most times it ends with Ilya pinning Shane in a way that inevitably leads to sex, sometimes Shane will take it very seriously and pin Ilya, which makes Ilya short circuit (which inevitably leads to sex).

Every reminder Ilya gets that Shane is strong, maybe even stronger than Ilya, makes him damn near black out. Potentially the hardest Ilya had ever been in his life was a time at the cottage where Shane carried Ilya to bed from the couch. Ilya was admittedly being a little shit and was whining about being too tired to walk ten feet and Shane promptly scooped him up from the couch with no warning.

They of course, fucked about it.

And it’s not about Shane being strong that Ilya finds to be such a turn on (which it is part of it) but more so the fact that when Ilya is reminded of Shane’s strength, it just makes the moments where Shane submits that much hotter.

Shane will just hand himself over to Ilya. All of him, all for Ilya to have his way with because that’s what Shane wants. He’s capable of pinning Ilya when they wrestle, and he can carry Ilya as easy as Ilya can carry Shane, but most of the time he chooses not to. Because Ilya is someone that Shane can trust. Ilya is someone that Shane can just… let go with.

And I’m sure this specific part of their dynamic has been discussed a million times over, but there really is something beautiful about the comfortability and compatibility these two have with one another. There’s just a perfect amount of push and pull that is so satisfying to explore.

i just read a fic about shane and ilya surviving a fucking zombie apocalypse and it was so good that i think my version of reality is a little warped

I think it’s perfect and shows how Shane and Ilya’s relationship has changed. It’s silly and dorky and definitely something Shane would do. I can just see him ordering them off Amazon and explaining to Ilya how they can use them for phone sex. Ilya thinks it’s the dorkiest thing ever, only Shane Hollander would think of something like this, but ofc Ilya will do anything for the love of his life. And it turns out, the tripods are pretty effective. Being able to see each other fully without any camera shakiness helps them fantasize that they’re really there together. It makes the distance between feel less great and takes away a bit of their loneliness. (Also Ilya can imagine they’re filming some “home movies” and that just turns him on even more.)
