âJax is the best character written in all of fictionâ
Iâd rather get fucked with a chainsaw than hear that phrase again
Jax refused to change, chose to be abusive and hurt people, and wanted to keep everyone at a distance. She drove both of her friends into abstraction and tormented Ragatha and Gangle for years, knowing it damaged their mental state yet refusing to stop. However despite all of this, Goose never let the cast acknowledge how truly horrible Jax was; they treated her more like a jaded jerk instead of an abuser who was hurting them. They even acted as if they were responsible for her well-being, remaining patient and supporting her despite all the harm she caused.Â
Itâs understandable that no one wanted Jax to abstract, but at the same time, they werenât obligated to continue tolerating her and keep trying to help someone who wouldnât help herself. Even after she abstracted, Ragatha blamed herself for not doing more to stop it, and Pomni risked death trying to save her even after seeing Jaxâs fantasies of strangling her, sexually harassing Gangle, and learning that Jax caused Ribbitâs and Kaufmoâs abstractions. Goose admitted that Jax was a horrible person, but at the same time she never explored just how truly awful she was. Instead of focusing on Jaxâs victims and delving into how her abuse affected them, she spent nearly 40 minutes of the finale trying to make her empathetic. As for her abstraction, Goose treated it as if it were a consequence within itself instead of a permanent escape from any potential ramifications for her actions.Â
Personally, I wouldâve preferred if the cast realized that theyâre not responsible for Jax and confronted her about her abuse, being tired of tolerating her behavior and dealing with her trauma. This pushes Jax over the edge because she has destroyed her relationship with the only group of people who tried to help her and is now truly alone, having to bear the weight of her awfulness on her own. She abstracts, finding it easier to die than to repent.
In the end, victims arenât responsible for saving their abusers and shouldnât compromise their well-being for theirs.
First image was me finding out about it via Insta. Second image is me confirming it from the store itself.
I can't even say anything anymore what the fuck
There is really no non-racist explanation for this at all. And yes, this is still up on their store.
Good grief, people have got to stop saying Jax âfumbledâ Ribbit as if he just made some kind of innocent mistake rather than literally actively socially isolating her for months to the point that she committed suicide.
I've heard some people say "Isn't She Lovely?" is meant to convey how Jax could have been lovely if she had accepted herself and gotten the chance to live as a girl. I call bs. No, Jax wouldn't have been lovely then either because transitioning and accepting yourself doesn't magically erase the years of abuse others went through because of you
It still fucks me up how in the abstraction montage with Jax, there were few scenes where Jax wasn't doing something mean, like you can't sit here and put a warm filter and play a sweet song over all these scenes where Jax is physically abusing or being mean to another character
People calling Jax's misogyny "internalized" like he didn't "externalize" it every chance he got đ
How did Pomni even know she can go inside of abstracted Jax's mind?
If it just happened accidentally, then why is Pomni giving abstracted Jax a hug when she knows physical contact with abstractions is dangerous and Caine is not there to fix it?
In the grand scheme of issues with TADC this one is very small, but it still does feel contrived.
âIsnât She Lovely?â being used for a Jax montage is so hilariously inappropriate.
Jax spent the entire show abusing everyone, has no redeeming qualities, and never once apologizes or changes, even at the very end! What is so "lovely" about that?
If they wanted a much more appropriate song, I recommend âDing-Dong! The Witch is Dead.â
It is so rough how often within the same media male characters get to be actual anthropomorphic animals, while female characters are just human women with animal ears.
Gameoverse is just another example of this.
gameoverse character designs
Tale as old as time. Men are allowed to look like anything, but god forbid female characters be anything other than sexy.
